Photographer's Note
Pereslavl-Zalessky is one of the oldest towns in Central Russia. It was founded in 1152 by Russian prince Yury Dolgoruky (Long-handed), who also founded Moscow four years earlier. A lot had happened since then. One city became Russian capital, the other one remained a quiet provincial town 120 km to the North-East from Moscow. Though the role of Pereslavl in Russian history is still significant. Legendary prince Alexander Nevsky was born here, Peter the Great was polishing his naval skills on the nearby Plescheevo lake, Feodor Shalyapin used to live here and so on.
Spaso-Preobrazhensky (or The Savior Transfiguration) Cathedral was founded simultaneously with the city and was finished by 1157 and now is one of the oldest buildings in Russia. It has seen many events during these centuries, was robbed by Mongols several times, suffered several renovations but luckily enough retained its initial form almost intact. A bit heavy and close-to-the-ground when seen from outside, but surprisingly light and airy inside. A real gem in so-called Golden Ring of Russian cities.

Beautiful monotone. Full use of gray tones. I like the sky and the composition showing two sides of the little church to make it look three-dimensional. Sharpness is crisp. Bravo!

Beautiful B&W image Dmitry, you have done well to get such definition in the tower against the lighter part of the sky.
The composition is perfectly balanced and I love the repeated towers receeding through the tree line.
Good depth to.

Hi Dmitry! Nice to see your latest post. You have a good picture in this one and althpugh you took this from a high perspective (?), this compo is neat and straightforward thus, it is easy to appreciate it.

I think the choice for black and white was very original and unespected. I like it. The lightness is good from the right side. Nice photo
