PETER & SIMON MAGUS, a photo from Saint Petersburg, Northwest

Photographer's Note

This is one of the gates of S.Peter and S.Paul Fort. In the main bronze panel we can see a scene where Simon Magus was trying to show to the crowd his abilities do fly and dies. It is told he wanted to buy the power of the disciples of Christ and had a discussion with Peter.
In the lower part we can see the symbol of imperial Russia, an eagle with two heads, holding the symbols of the power, the coat of arms show us Saint George, the patron saint of Moscow and Russia.

Esse � um dos port髊s internos do Forte de S.Pedro e S.Paulo. No painel de bronze vemos uma suposta cena religiosa onde Sim緌, o Mago, tenta demonstrar seus poderes de voar e cai do c徼, isso depois de ter tido uma discuss緌 com Pedro porque tentava comprar os poderes que os disc甑ulos de Cristo tinham.
Na parte inferior vemos o s璥bolo da R𢃼sia imperial, a 墔uia de duas cabe蓷s, que segura os s璥bolos do poder. No seu peito um bras緌 com a figura de S緌 Jorge, padroeiro de Moscou e da R𢃼sia.

Hello Jorge,

It is a curious combination, Biblical representations with the symbol of Imperial Russia.
However, it is very well captured , excellent sharp details, with quite a 3D effect.
Love the subtle lighting effects.

Jorge, the picture presents the details of a fort gate. The relief on the bronze panel represents a religious scene. The two headed eagle symbolizes the imperial Russia. Moscow and Russian coat of arm is included in the middle. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Jorge,
It's a strange gate which looks like two parts each wanted to adorn it with their favourite motifs, one religious and one showing the power of the state. I am not religious, but I prefer the upper bas relief from an artistic point of view.

Hello Jorge,
A good close-up of the details and decorations over the gate entrance. You captured it in a fine and warm sidelight. The double headed eagle looks great too with fine golden details.
