WARMING UP THE HOUSE, a photo from Saint Petersburg, Northwest

Photographer's Note

This is another small museum inside the fort, this one has a collection of objects in ceramic used in architecture during the czarist times, you can find tiles, bricks, adornments, etc.. Anyway, the most fabulous pieces are these structures used to warm up the interior do the halls, they are coated with rich tiles and porcelains with adornments and scenes. There are many different colors, shapes and patterns. I saw many of them inside the palaces I visited in Russia. I presume this piece has porcelain made in Netherlands.

Esse � outro pequeno museu dentro do forte, com uma cole誽o de pe蓷s de cer滵ica decorativa usada nos pr嶮ios russos na 廧oca dos czares. Ali podemos ver tijolos, azulejos, telhas, adornos, etc. Contudo, as pe蓷s mais bonitas da cole誽o eram esses aquecedores de ambiente revestidos de pe蓷s de porcelana, havia muitas variedades com formatos, tamanhos e cores diferentes. Esse aqui tinha cenas pintadas e acho que sua porcelana foi feita na Holanda.

Jorge, that stove stands out by its design. It is decorated with tiles aesthetically arranged together. Personages of the past are represented on them. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

This is a truly magnificent stove and probably so expensive that only the richest and most powerful people could afford them. Each little tile is an exquisite work of art and you captured this treasure with well managed light and sharpness.

Hello Jorge,

This ornate stove is a masterpiece of ceramic art and skill and would have been an opulent adornment to heat the interior of a home of the privileged and wealthy. Each tile appears to be an exquisitely detailed part of the whole and you have captured this fascinating object superbly well considering what must have been very difficult lighting conditions.

A fascinating and informative note too.

Not only to heat the room, but a real work of art was made for it.
Years ago I've seen similar heating stoves in Romania. But not with blue and white tiles.

A beautiful photo of these many blue tiles, which have so many wonderful paintings on them. It all stands out well from the dark blue wall also and the lighting was great too. You got a really clear picture of it.

Hello Jorge, I tried to read what was written there but it was impossible, hahaha. The old stove have tiles from Delft in Holland, I suppose. Such blue tiles are famous. I saw similar also in one of the palaces, I do not remember where. Good dark blue background.

Hello Jorge,

I have seen many examples of old stoves, used for warming buildings but never anything so intrinsically beautiful as this!
It is a work of art as well as serving a very useful function!
The tiles do look very Dutch.
Each one is so detailed, revealing the costume details of the time and, to some degree, the building types.
