Photographer's Note
Izborsk - fortress on the western border of Russia was populated since the beginning of country's history. Standing on the border with Teutonic Order, fortress had to be very strong, and tens of sieges and battles happened here in Medieval Age.
Main struggle was between ancient cities Novgorod and Pskov on one side, and Teutonic Order knights on the other. Sometimes Lithuanian forces also joined the struggle.
What now remain of the fortress was built in year 1330. There are 6 towers, two churches, one of them built in 1341. Photo presents tower Vishka, it can be translated as "miradore", or something like that.

Interesting picture and notes. A lot of History has passed through this place.
A bit of noise at the sky level.

An intersting architecture with good light on the main subject. But I find the shadow on the bottom a bit disturbing. Also the sky has a lot of noise. A tool like NeatImage would get all that noise off, and would makes this an even better image.

Hallo Uhu!
Gutes Foto und sehr interessanter Komentar, aber vielleicht wäre es ein bisschen besser gewessen, den Schatten zu entfernen, der Turm wäre auch imposanter geworden.
Viele Grüsse
Wolfgang
