Photographer's Note
Lovely flowers in bloom on a busy street fronting the Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul, South Korea. The Palace was built in 1395 and was the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty.
The Palace was considered as a status and symbol of national sovereignty. However, it was demolished during the Japanese occupation of the country on the early part of the 20th century.
Restoration efforts have been made in the past and another 20 year restoration project is being planned by the South Korean government to restore Gyeongbokgung to its former glory.

Hi Mics,a very original way to take a pic from this palace, just a blurred shadow in background in your composition, but truly artistic and interesting this composition, with bright colors and good detail on the geraniums, like a red carpet under the building, great idea,i like it! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Michelle,
Such colorful flowers against the silhouette of the old palace. I was there once, but could not remember the name until I saw your excellent note.
Warm regards to you and your family. I've been very bad in writing blogs for the National Geographic, but I did write one about Robin Williams's suicide.
