Photographer's Note
Trapped in the middle of this apartment complex, all I can do is look up and snap. Hope the chosen POV won't make you dizzy. I was trying to be creative with my ultra-wide lens that day. B&W conversion via lab colour in Photoshop. Adjusted curves and added a hint of blue to remind myself what a cold place it felt like.

hi, very nice photo with a good title. It really emphasizes how these monsters we call cities trapped us in their midst. Well done...

It seems an irreal image, really, the effect is vertiginous, the chosen colors are very apropiate, interesting picture!

Great capture, Bennett! I like the POV and idea, usage of B&W to increase the graphical aspect of this picture, and the perspective lines drawing the eyes toward the clouded skies...Nice work!

Great shot and a great perspective. What I like most about this shot is the atmosphere in the clouds here.

Hi Benet
Great point of view and really interesting composition, good election for black and white, I think it emphisises the sensation of being trapped.
But what is that black zone in the left part of the image?

nice photo bennett ... the dark sky adds a nice element to this shot. i like that you chose to put the buildings on diagonals, distorting the shot a little to make it more edgy! b&w is perfect for your composition.
this looks a lot where i live, but then again, don't all apartment complexes in korea look the same??

i love this shot. black and white is perfect. it gives the photo a dark industrial overtone, accentuated by the grey sky and smoke like clouds. the leading lines are great too. the perspective draws the viewer in as if they are falling - i get a little vertigo looking at this.
one small observation - and keep in mind i'm nitpicking here for the sake of being constructive: the dark shadow in the bottom left is unfortunate, though i suspect there isn't much you could have done about that.
if you don't live very far from where you took this photo, you might consider going back there another time to take the same photo. maybe next time you'll get lucky with some textured clouds. something more foreboding, with depth. . .
anyway. fantastic photo. it's in my personal favorites. :)

Hi Bennett, amazing perspective and having been in many of these apartment complexes in Seoul myself, I think you have capture the enclosing, towering and cold feeling one gets when visiting these places.

It does make me feel dizzy...and that's why I like it
You've positioned the buildings ideally
Probably B&W enhances the dullness and monotony of the place, good decision

Really well executed. It is difficult to shoot huge buildings while giving a impression of scale : Here, looking at your picture makes me dizzy !

What an interesting view! Great sky, the B&W creates good ambiance.
But what I like the most about this picture is that usualy, we try to put the "subject" in the 1/3 of the picture. While here, the 1/3 is the "lack of subject"...

Great view. A bit dizzying but it evokes feeling of helplessness with the sky so distant.

Hi Benett!
Impressive urban shot. Excellent POV and very good light handling. How did you avoid overexposing the sky? Did you apply some special technique (like HDR for example)?
Greetings
Andreas
