Photographer's Note

I was just playing around with a raw shot here. I tried various white balance settings, took it into photoshop and played around with it a little more until I came up with something sepia-like that I liked. I added a bit of grain, but not too sure if it came out ok. Yes, it was a bit of an experiment and I should have gone outdside today, but it's too cold and i'm hungover.

The shot is of run down building near my home that is red in colour, but at night time seems to glow bright red due to the excessive outside lighting.

Well this is a pretty daring treatment though it sounds like there is a genuine "Red" base for it. Having said all that I rather like it, Will: the furtive figure of that man passing down the alley is striking.

I didnt go out today either, but its getting cold and its going to take some time to adjust. I like the rawness of this photo, the urban bleakness and the anonymity of the blur. I like the grain but Im not sold on the tinting. It might be a bitt oo much, as in it takes away from the action instead of creating a mood. Just my opinion though, have you tried to do this in b/w and boost the contarst? Still, I like experiments like this.

delightful excersise here, the detailed explanatory note says everything,
i know several places here in warsaw which change heir "faces" in the night completely, good idea to experiment with them a bit,
the ghostly man look a bit strange but not that much to change my perception of this nice work,
