Photographer's Note

I continue with my Bangkok monuments in the night with this shot of the Victory monument which was erected in 1941 to commemorate the Thai victory in the brief war with the French colonial authorities in Indo-China.
On the left side is Bayoke tower, Thailand's highest building at 309 meters. The flyover going from left to right is the BTS sky train, the local 'metro'...

Hi Laurent, good night view, with good long exposure and a beautiful effect on the traffic lights.
i know that square, 'cause i watch it everytime from the top of the Bayoke Sky Hotel, the one on the middle-lfet of the picture!

Blue hour donc me voila ! Une prise bien parametree donc la structure a gauche a quand meme un peu de mal a emerger compte tenu de la lumiere disponible sur le reste de l'image, j'aime bien le trafic anarchique, c'est si typique de Bangkok !

The composition works great,works superb!
The light lines on the streets, and this lightness of the monument give a really nice effect.
The all ligth control is very good here.
The sky as background comes great.

I went past this same monument by skytrain on 30 December 2006. The following night, there were people killed there, in the new year's eve bombings in Bkk :-(

A superb time exposure, & good downward pov, with excellent sharpness. I like the motion blurred traffic. Merci!

Through the long exposure F22 can we the red light, of the cars in curve see, this gives a excellent view on this picture, perhaps a little bit late for the real blue hour, absolutely, a very well picture. TFS.

Laurent, c'est avec une grande ma褾rise que tu as r嶧lis� cette photo nocturne. J'aime les deux p犨es : la tour et le monument. Mais ce qui est il me semble le plus int廨essant c'est la circulation qui est visible avec les traces des feux des v嶭icules. J'aurais peut-皻re enlev� un peu de ciel.

cette prise � l'heure bleue a un grand attrait, la courbe et la diagonale du viaduc, ainsi que les verticales de la tour et du monument proportionnent un bon graphisme � cette composition.
L'exposition est bien travaill嶪, les lignes de lumi鋨es des voitures donnent un dynamisme, et le reste de l'嶰lairage est tr鋊 bien contr犨�.
C'est une belle photo.

Hello Laurent,

A highly effective long exposure. The streaks of taillights appear like spaghetti, and in places the appearance of green and red flashing lights must be traffic lights. Well done!
