Photographer's Note
Most of the boats are out there in the Thala Noi lake to catch some fish, but there is less and less fish. It is not just overfished the water is polluted, even you cannot see it. Some three decades ago the Thale Noi provided the drinking water for all the surrounding villages, but since many years nobody dares to drink this water. Today there are countless diesel motor driven boats on the lake, but also there is a lack of sewage plants. Most village have no other choice then to pump the sewage directly into the lake.

Hello, Urs,
Simple but excellent composition, I like this diagonal direction of the boat, perfect quality! Impressive sharpness... vivid colors. Your photo brings me back to Chiang Mai and Mekong. TFS!
Have a nice week!

Hi Urs
I like the light and the sharpnes.
I would have liked to see the wake of the boat.

Hello Urs,
I can hear the thunderous roar of the engine now:-) The framing is perfect to show the boat and its crew and give a good sense of motion. Lighting is superb over the muddy waters. Great capture.

Hello Urs,
I guess the brown water isn't necessarily a sign of pollution but it certainly gives the picture a special character. The green plants at the top make a fine contrast and are probably better visible than if the water had looked blue. The canoe is well placed on a diagonal, going from corner to corner. It's a good photo with an interesting but sad note.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Urs,
is really sad when I saw places that are polluted. The human being the main cause for this pollution and sometimes I think there are now other way to recovered these enviroments. A sad but true story.
I like the capture with the man in the boat. But where you were? In a bridge?

Hi Urs,
Yuck! When I saw the thumbnail, I thought "interesting." Before I read your note I was convinced it was pretty. Now I realize I am looking at a cesspool. The photo is pretty, though. It would have been nice to see more of the wake but, nah, then there is the danger of getting that spray in our eyes!
Cheers,
MT

Hello dear Urs
Nice picture of the long boat fishing in the muddy waters of the lake. Wonder how the lake is so muddy, like the water of Mekong...The boat looks good in a diagonal frame contrasting with the muddy waters

Hi Urs!
Unfortunately, it's becoming a big problem and not just in Thailand!
I like the little boat crossing the muddy waters in diagonal and the movement of the water. The light is great and you still got some plants at the top.
