Photographer's Note
I don't normally wake up early on Saturdays. But today, I did. My purpose: to photograph monks. I went to the temple once again and this was one of the many shots that I took. This was taken behind an "installation" that the monks put up to honor the birthday celebration of the king of Thailand (which was yesterday). He was fixing up the small twinkling lights and I took the opportunity to take this shot from behind as the sunlight wonderfully hit the different colored board which was used as a base of their display. This is also my way of showing how the life of the monk can be "colourful" at times.
(auto adjustments, increased saturation and brightness a bit)

very casual picture, but interesting, unusual composition, the light with shadows are special, colours are well composed - monk's clothes and the board. Original picture.
I'll be in Bangkok in 2 weeks for 3 days on my way to Vietnam, I'll definitely try to take some pictures of monks too.

The colours give this its impact. It captures something of the mundaneness of a monk's life rather than romanticising it. I am curious as to what the posters on the far wall signify. They look as though they might be "wanted" posters?

Again an interesting shot from a world some way from what we see up here in the north. Fine colour setting.
