Photographer's Note

While scanning the horizon, spotted this lone floating vendor who seemed to be struggling perhaps not quite so "gently down the stream" for her as she appeared to be putting some effort into her task really leaning into it. This made go for quick shots even though the afternoon was bored, cloudy and misty. Just a typical scene of a floating fishing village in Halong Bay which more or less unchanged for centuries I think.

This place is full of legends and you can see why - a spot which also reminded me of hiding places where pirates used to hide among the complicated network of limestone islets in this amazing bay.

Seeing a whole new layer of reality to that lifestyle was quite fascinating I had never imagined....
