Photographer's Note
I'd love to ask you to read this caption with appropriate music!
Please search for "La Cosquillita" by our most international musician, Juan Luis Guerra. In that song you may enjoy Guerra performing one of the oldest rhythms from the Dominican Republic: Perico Ripiao. This is an extremely fast-paced merengue that originates on the mountains in the Cibao region. The three essential instruments for Perico Ripiao (and by extension, to all Merengues) are the Güira, the Tambora and the Accordion.
Those instruments are featured here, as I visited the Parque Colón to find some musical themes and got lucky with this trio of street performers.

Buenas noches y gracias! Luciano.

Hi Dario
