Photographer's Note

Santo Domingo's Zona Colonial is the oldest european settlement in the Americas. The early "hidalgos" in Santo Domingo claimed to be very religious, and forced the local natives (called the Taínos) to help build many churches and capels along the newly founded city. Santa Bárbara is among the oldest churches in America, and one of the more beautiful indeed. It's located in the northern part of the old Colony, on top of a hill that once dominated the view of the town and the river Ozama. But despite this, nowdays Santa Bárbara is closed (people in the neighborhood told me they are remodeling inside for several years now). In front of Santa Bárbara you'll find a very nice park. The place is surrounded by dust and garbage, so I tried to capture a little of the "ambience".
This is a panorama stitch made from three shots, one of the leaves, middle of the church and top of the belltower and sky. I cloned out a bunch of electrical wires that ran in front of the Church.

Hi, Dario!
I like your church very much as an example of ancient architecture and as an example of good focus and color. The explanatory note is very good too! The problem with the wire is very annoing and you have mastered it... But the brown leaves with the green trees?! Unnecessary, I think.
As a whole - OK!

Hello Dario,
Interesting architecture of the church... Reminds me of the Spanish influence on church building in the Philippines from the same period! They also have a separate belltower and a horrible array of cables...
Well composed image with good details, and by the way... well done on the post processing!
Greetings,

Hi Dario,
This is an interesting stitch but the leaves appear just a bit too large, in my view. There is a discrepancy between the leaves in the foreground and those -- much tinier -- in the middleground. What do you think?
The church itself is beautiful, and so is your note.

Hi Dario
beautiful shot, and a great pov. the blurred leaves in the foreground are really great.
Good postprocessing, hard to see all the manipulation.
great job

I've seen lots of good birdseye view photos, ut a ratseyes view? Well it works kind of good.
Very nice perspective on the church.
The focus and attention of the church drags you to it, but at the same time the leaves in the foreground creates a small barrier tha tseems to keep you away.
Great detail and focus.
Colours look very natural, the small amount of green adds a great break to the otherwise hard grey building.
