Photographer's Note

Typical watercraft of the Kunas to go through the archipelago of San Blas, composed of 365 islands in the Panamanian Caribbean. I had the opportunity to make a tour through the nearest islands on a canoe like this. To buy a beer, I had to swim to the neighbor island, Isla Perro, in the background of the picture. The inhabitants of that island (only a family) had to buy the ice from the next inhabited island, where there was an energy generator.

Very appropriate title for the shot, the tiny island lying ahead, and the dugout in the foreground. I like the composition and colors very much in this photograph. Bravo.

Quiet, subdued colours for a quiet, meditative scene. Your use of a wide angle has created an eye-catching composition, with the canoe in the foreground leading our eyes towards the island, and incidentally has given you great depth of field. I'm so glad you've resisted the temptation artificially to saturate the colours in Photoshop. Great work.

I guess swimming to each island for food and beverage is not a bad way to go with scenery and water like this! :) Not only that, it helps keep you in shape! That little fact adds so much more interest to an already intriguing image. Stylish composition, using both strong vertical and more subtle horizontal lines and perspectives. I really like the rustic colors and textures from the old boat. All very nicely defined and composed for best effect. Nicely done! Have a great day ahead.

Excellent photo. The boat in front is very good focal point of this photo. There is a great use of depth of field to hold the viewer in the foreground boat as well as the small island in BG and the excellent lighting conditions have allowed for very good color saturation. The overall impact is very strong. Very well done.

I惴 really impressed how you composed the scene-especially the FG with so nicely zoomed boad creates here kind of 3D feeling of the scene.
The small island in the BG looks magnificent.

Superb composition with nice,well-saturated colors(even despite cloudy weather you were able to bring out them excellently).

A very explanatory and interesting note, that helps us make better this great composition, I like the POV of this typical boat in the foreground on the sand, while in the background we see the small island, are the lush vegetation and a calm sea in silver color ..

Your title prepares us nicely for the subject; a deserted beach and an abandoned boat.
You have captured the f/g details with great sharpness, relaying textures and surface undulations.
I like the composition, the boat guiding us into the distance. Maybe a slightly more angled position would have been more artistically pleasing.

Howdy Alex,

Interesting view of the dugout canoe resting on the sandy beach with the tiny Isla Diablo in the background with dense palm trees.

The island's name "Diablo" reminds me, my university's mascot was the "Diablos" but was considered politically incorrect and was changed to 'golden eagles'. (California State University at Los Angeles).
