Historic canal of Damme, a photo from West-Vlaanderen, Flanders

Photographer's Note

Damme is situated between Bruges and the coast. When Bruges was a large port and wealthy center of cloth trade (before the 15th century, when the Zwin Estuary silted up) ships transited via this town. Today it has become a quiet village along the canal. The flat Flemish landscape with its canal and low grey skies has been sung by Belgian poet Jacques Brel

Hallo Kik,

Dit is een foto uit mijn buurt en zeker uit de buurt van een ander TE lid hdl (Hendrik)
Werkelijk een kanaal om van weg te dromen, daar moet u mij niet van overtuigen.
U had niet echt het geluk dat het stil was, anders had u mooi weerspiegelingen gehad tot aan Damme.
Deze foto is gemaakt juist tegenover het etablisement. Werkelijk de geschite plaats, nu sedert enkele dagen nog mooier, door de groene bladeren aan de bomen.
Diepte en perspectief zijn hier de grote troeven.
Goed gedaan.

Great perspective, my friend! Very good saturated colours and fine details! The smooth surface of the water except the central part, create fine reflections. F/8 was a very good option for a clear depth of the field. I suppose that this aperture must be one of the closest of this camera. Thanks for sharing.
