My bicycle trip during a raining afternoon but Oostkerke remain nice a picturesque village.
I came here already if child with father to other friend farmers, than still no street with asphalts, only a street with clay, only with hors an carriage no car (1950)
TODAY:
Oostkerke on a weekday October afternoon. There is a dead silence around the towerless church of the polder village. As if you are standing in the middle of the fields. There are no shops and the only village pub is not yet open. But let that peace be precisely the attraction of the polder village. Because people want to come from afar and give a lot of money for that.
There are barely six hundred souls in the picturesque village with its snow-white houses, but if one of the houses is sold, there is a storm. Astronomical amounts are paid for every home that comes on the market. From half to two million euros. The smaller as a country residence, the larger as a permanent residence. As a result, the real people of Oostkerke are threatened with extinction.
Six hundred thousand euros is a bargain here, one million euros is the average and you pay up to two million euros for the more impressive villas. Oostkerke is the absolute highlight in the region, but the other villages are also attacked from the coastal cities. Hoeke, Lapscheure, Vivenkapelle, Moerkerke ... That stain keeps expanding. The border is currently on the Maldegem sub-municipality of Middelburg.
I hope you like it

Hello John,
The trees are helping tp frame the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the farm buildings. The light id giving good colours output. Have a nice day.

Hello John,
I think not just the street but also the buildings look better now than in 1950. The standard of living and the quality of everything has increased incredibly in those 70 years. Now it is obviously a prosperous farm with very nice buildings. The slightly distant view gives us a good look of the place with its clean white walls, red brick roofs and probably neatly cut lawns. It is a pleasantly composed photo and the colours are crisp and clear in spite of the dull weather.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo John,
Het is een mooi gezicht hoe de nog groene blaadjes van de bomen een patroon vormen boven het hek en de witte muren en de oranje daken van de boerderij. De compositie is uitstekend in balans.

Bonjour, cher ami John,
J'aime cette prise de vue intimiste qui nous fait presque pénétrer dans cette propriété.
L'on voudrait franchir la grille pour découvrir les différents bâtiments.
Très bien.
Amitiés.

Hello John,
So ... are you looking for a new house?
Will the price suit you!!!
It is true, people love to find the peace and tranquility of the countryside, where their houses can spread over large areas!! We have a programme on TV called 'Escape to the Country', where people seek out appealing country locations, in their escape from city life.
You have chosen a fine viewpoint, using a guiding pathway to the gate, where sufficient details of the inner house and garden, raise our curiosity for more!
It's a fine exposure, as always.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)
By the way, how is your hand? Has it fully recovered from your accident?

Hi John
Fine so peaceful rural image with focus is fully on the beautiful old well maintained farm houses. Tidy and very interesting narrative with touch of early autumnal colours and I love that balmy weather. The lush trees provide a great visual to make it very appealing composition. Congrats
Best regards

Dag John
Let us hope that this heaven of peace in the heart of a quiet village will last forever; it looks so lovely seen from the outside.
Thanks for the nice setup within the frame and especially for the perceptible details on white-painted brick walls testifying of photographic 'know how'!
Vrindelijke groeten

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi John,
very interesting note.
Nice photo, quite freshly taken. It has this autumnal mood with plenty of colorful leaves on the ground and grey skies. The mood is very much autumnal.
The two trees well frame the entrance to the complex.
Very well done,
M

Hallo John, that farm entrance was renovated recently. The cobbled alley leads to the courtyard. The estate comprises several buildings. Nice architectural details. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello John,
An interesting view of snow-white houses.
Basic Law of Economics: If there is little the price goes up.
I like good composition and wonderful colours.
Good work, fine presentation.
