This visit during Covid-19 a Sijsele, this is allowed in Belgium at the moment
This Saturday morning, I was back one bike ride make direction Damme and Oostkerke. The lockdown was hardly anyone can be seen on the road, but cycling is allowed, so no offense for me.
History of the bridge with the Damse canal.
This would once have been a port during Napoleon
There is nothing left of this old port here, but history has written its part here.
Monnikerede was a small port town in the north of the Belgian province of West Flanders, on the territory of Oostkerke, of which it was a hamlet. It was where the Damse Vaart runs today, between the Oostkerkebrug and the bend to Hoeke.
I hope you like it.

Hello John,
One more or your beloved canals. This photo has an amazing light and the long lines of trees on both sides once again have created excellent depth. It was a good idea to step back a few meters to include the wrought iron railing and the fine cobblestones of the bridge. They gave you a fine foreground.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi John,
The length of the canal is creating depth and perspective. The point of view is showing the details of the bridge and of the trees. The colors and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice day.

Hello John,
The receding banks of the canal add good linear perspective. Excellent sharpness and nice repetition of the evenly spaced trees. Tfs!

Bonjour, cher ami John,
Un paysage automnal du plus bel effet avec cette vue du canal en perspective.
le pont offre un garde-corps en fer forgé du meilleur effet.
Belle peinture flamande.

Hello John,
Who could doubt that this is one of your photographs, with this fine viewpoint, capturing the long perspective of the tree-lined canal. The autumnal colours give it a special warmth.
I like the details of the bridge, which in some way have similarities with the circular decorations of the bridge that I posted from Central Park!
Lovely dof to make this an enjoyable photograph to peruse.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi John
This is an amazing light and warm balmy autumn day you've got with all the features nicely laid out. The arty railing serves as good focal pulling us throughout the frame with cracking detail of the receding trees. Excellent
Best regards

Hallo John, that old bridge is spanning one of the many canals found in Flanders. It has a long history. The lines of trees create an excellent depth. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hi John,
beautiful place! I like the variety of patterns. The canal itself is so picturesque with the naked already trees pleasantly aligned on both sides. The bridge has a lovely fencing. Further in the right we see some charming houses.
Difficult light but great outcome. Excellent capture,

Hallo John,
Een mooi gezicht op de lange rechte vaart met aan weerszijden de lange rij bomen, die hier een mooie warme gloed krijgen in het zachte zonlicht. Het witte huis aan de rechterkant is ook een goede toevoeging.

Hi John
yes, CLASSIC JHM shot here. I have said it to you before, when I visit Belgium i'm going to look up these places and see them for myself :) your bike ride shots are classic here on TE. Another fine example of these long tall tree lines, love it in this tone and warmth. cheers

Mooie diepte op het kanaal, maar ook de brug met de kasseitjes ervoor is erg geslaagd. Knappe compositie, John. Mooi werk.

Hi John.
Superb composition, from the bridge and leading the canal, the two lines of trees on the sides of it, give a nice and double diagonal, creating a greater effect of the beautiful perspective.
Very nice color that enhances the image.
Superb brightness and sharpness management to enjoy the details.
Well seen and done. I like.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.
