Photographer's Note
A picture taken in Bruges Belgium you can see the Cross gate with the Mill on the background.
The Cross gate was a town gate part of the second townwall of Bruges dating from 1297. The actual gate is of more recent date: it is dated form the beginning of the 15th century. It was built bythe architects Jan van Oudenaerde and Maarten van Leuven.
Today there is only the main building remaining, while the two bridges and the front gate have disappeared.
This picture I have cropped to a better composition.
I hope you like it.

Goedemorgen John!
Prachtige foto met en perfecte evenwicht in de compositie.Je hebt de belichting en beetje an de donkere kant gehouden dat levert en heerlijke blauwe lucht op.
Good job!

Hi John,
Not much light on that one, but I like here the excellent framing and perspective towards this imposant gate, also a good idea to have included the background mill in the composition, it adds another attractive element to catch the eye. Well done !
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

hi john, nice compo and lovely details; just noticed that the clouds over the gate look a bit like a smoke from the chimney :-))
very careful composition here

Crisp shot of the old town gate, John, this sure looks like it was a trustworthy structure to fortify and protect the city in medieval times. Good shooting angle to be able to include the windmill in the compo. Well done.

Looks like a modern building, but it is not...
Here I like the right-part of the picture with the mill and the mooring-buoys.
The tower itself is not really an "architectural interest" but I like the combination with the other part.

La, c'est dommage qu'il y avait le soleil qui avait disparu derrière un nuage... Enfin, la composition est très bonne et la porte ainsi que le moulin sont bien mis en valeur. Bien vu, John!

THi is beautiful, John. I think that I rememeber this bridge from my (too short) visit in Bruges, a few years ago. If I am not mistaken this gate is the closest to the main road of the new city.
Anyway, the two cylidrical sides of the gate are beautiful, with nice texture and soft colors. A cute windmill and a lovely sky.

Seems like you had pleasant weather and good lighting here. I like the inclusion of the windmill in the distance. I agree with your cropping as well. Colors seem nicely saturated but surely not overly so. Well done again.

Nice wide feeling shot you have here John. This structure seems to magically float on the water despite its obvious weight. The entrance is a great focal point as everything seems to lead my eyes to it from this well chosen point of view. It really acts as a great funnel that way. The colors and contrast look good here, too. Well done.

Good afternoon John,
If remember right, there is another pic. with slightly diff. POV on this location. Nevertheless, it is a marvelous pobject for photography, offers many interesting elements combined.
Fine view inspite the low light conditions.
Best regards,
Ike

Dobar dan, gospodine.
Lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
lepo pokazano mesto i stara arhitektura, dobra perspektiva i kontrast, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak sa oblacima koji dolaze. Lepa arhitektura i detalji na fasadi, lep most i vetrenjaca u pozadini.
Zelim vam lep dan, sve najbolje.
Paja.
