Belgian new A400M
This was the first demonstration flight over Belgium, accompanied by two F16 aircraft
2020.10.09 ten-hour AM
I had received a message when this aircraft would fly over the airport of Ursel.
I also had my flight radar turned on, but military planes weren't showing up, so false hope.
I had positioned myself 3 km past the airport in an open area where I could see the plane coming.
But afterwards I saw that my camera had to be adjusted better.
The screws turn too slowly, and this is a mistake that my own cannot forgive
Tactical and strategic
In total, Belgium ordered eight A400M aircraft, one of which was on behalf of Luxembourg, to replace the current C-130s. The old devices will be out of service this year (2020) after almost fifty years. The A400M is the result of a collaboration between seven European countries (Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Luxembourg, United Kingdom and Turkey). The device, which can carry out tactical missions and strategic flights of up to 5,400 kilometres, should fill a gap that European armies have repeatedly had to identify in the field of air transport. The aircraft has a length of 45 meters and a wingspan of 42 meters and can not only carry heavy equipment and personnel, but also drop vehicles and up to 116 paratroopers over enemy territory. It can also be used for evacuation missions and can refuel other aircraft in the air
I hope you like it

HI John,a new airplane to replace the old C-130 taken in a interesting preview of 15 months ago, the pic is good but not the best of perfections, surely because the high speed and distance, still an interesting post, original and different. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello John,
Technically it is for obvious reasons not as good as your rural views of canals and trees, but it's still a very special photo and one to be proud of. You prepared yourself carefully for this shot and managed to be in the right position. You had very little time and managed a fully acceptable photo.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi John,
You have captured well the prop's blur. The point of view is show3ing the details of the Belgian Air Force Airbus A400M aircraft. Have a nice day.

Hi John,
Impressive view, well taken this plane, a good angle and an interesting effect with these propellers ... like palm, tfs.

For such a picture, John, let me give you an advise:
I take planes pictures with ISO100, set the camera on 1/800 or 1/1000 shutter speed. Also, find a place that is about 300m or 400m from the runway.
Than, hoping for a clear blue sky which is never in my ability to control...
An intriguing capture, I can imagine the typical & special
C-130 engines sound.
In Israel we call those crafts Super-Hercules plane.
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Hi John,
I suppose this is why I don't really like action photography, there is always this stress that you have to react fast to capture the scene.
I prefer to take time.
Nevertheless you ended up with a lovely souvenir of this photo session.
Very original sight,
M

Hello John,
I can imagine your anticipation and your disappointment when everything was not as you expected!
This is not as clear and and sharp as your land scenes, yet it was a special photograph, revealing something quite new to Belgium.
I cannot help thinking that the propellors, with their movement blur, look like flowers.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello John
A beautiful view of this large plane with the rotation of locusts. Flying is a strange and fascinating experience. In your photo, I experience this feeling again.

Hello John
I like the motion blurred propellers. They resemble flowers. Good tonal range and upward pov. Excellent sharpness and framing. Tfs!
