Photographer's Note
Another night shot of the Varna Cathedral, this time on the background of completely dark sky.
Again taken without tripod, using the same trash bin for that purpose...:-)) I am afraid the quality is not one of the highest, but as I will be able to go out and take some shots not earlier than next week, hoped you wouldn't mind to see another sight of the Cathedral and enjoy its stained glass windows.
In the 1960s stained glass windows were placed: the southern ones (those facing the square and you look at) depicted the images of the authors of the Cyrillic alphabet St. Cyril and St. Methodius, and the northern windows - their followers St. Clement and St. Angelarii. The spring of 2000 revealed a new image of the cathedral - the patina-covered copper domes were refreshed with golden paint. Located in the very centre of Varna, the present-day Cathedral is one of the most famous buildings in the city.
The Cyrillic Alphabet is used by some other nations too, like Russians, Serbs, Macedonians, but in some slightly different variations. Nations during their historical periods have been mixing their culture in enigmatic ways, so this holds for the Cyrillic Alphabet too. I know some TE members may say that it could be quite a discussable theme how the two brothers created it and how much it really differs from the Greek one...(hi, George/Aegean..;-)) ...but what is more important here for me, is to show you the beauty of the image, drawn like icon on the window and visable from faraway. All disputes about what came first: the chicken or the egg, as well as who was first in doing something, sometimes are really without any meaning, because maybe it would be better if we stress less impact on the past from this aspect, and put more - on the future, thus not repeating the ugly mistakes...
So, let's enjoy the precious valuables history left us. We can always learn from the beauty and avoid the wars that have been led for possesing it...
Beauty is always on the bright side, so I hope you will enjoy its golden glow here...:-)
PP: slightly rotated, corrected the distortion, sharpened, resized. Pls, all comments for improvement are warmly welcomed!

Golden indeed. Nice night image on this cathedral. Good work on the PP, just some comment is some noise on edges brought by sharpening (i think). nevertheless this is an excellent composition. Good work!

Maria you will soon have to gimme CPR when you show us these nightshots of your beautiful cathedral. Who could ever know that a trash bin can be so useful. It's pure gold in it. I just love it, thanks for sharing with us.

An even more impressive shot of the Varna Cathedral, Maria. Good POV. The lighting is excellent and I like how it makes the domes look like gold. The detail is great and the central stain glass window is very beautiful. Well done, again.

It actually came out really steady, Maria - soon we will see the first photographers at night carrying trash bins wherever they go ;-) The golden glow lends a lot of atmosphere, and the details of the beautiful stained glass windows can be seen very well. The upward angle gives impact to the graphical quality of the architecture. Very nice one.

Another beautiful shot Maria - I like the detail here, though I think I prefer the composition of your previous shot. I guess you took this one a little later, because the sky is quite black. The warmth of that golden colour and light is amazing and lovely. Well done.

Hi Maria, forget your boats, and move around Varna only at nighttime! Again this one is excellent, too. The golden light is so great. Your POV makes it stand out so tall!
Maybe a tripod is more easy than a trashbin, Maria ;-)
Thanks you for this beauty, that I would really like to see one day in real!

Nightshot..now you are spreading your wings. Thanks for the inspiration/motivation.
Good slope in the height of the domes. It makes the picture compositionally good.

Bright and golden, is always the best way to showcase religious structure. Like in this work of yours Maria, even the facade is glowing rich with golden hues and tonality. Just like you said, beauty is always on the bright side. I liked that expression.
Merry Christmas Maria and wishing you Happy New Year.
