Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes National Park (Croatian: Nacionalni park Plitvička jezera,is one of the oldest national parks in Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia.In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register.

The national park was founded in 1949 and is situated in the mountainous karst area of central Croatia, at the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The important north-south road connection, which passes through the national park area, connects the Croatian inland with the Adriatic coastal region.

The protected area extends over 296.85 square kilometres (73,350 acres). About 90% of this area is part of Lika-Senj County, while the remaining 10% is part of Karlovac County.

Each year, more than 1 million visitors are recorded.Entrance is subject to variable charges, up to 180 kuna or around �24 per adult in peak season.

Hello Danos,
This photo combines beautiful colours of the water with a fine view of the reeds growing in the lake. The very gentle waves have created a lovely pattern of reflected light in the foreground. It is a fine composition of art in nature, or nature as art.

Nice picture from Plitvice. Here there are no waterfalls but just the lake with the marvelous colours. Nice view of the read on the shore and its rereflections.

The vegetation is helping to frame the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the cliff or opposite shore. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Reeds & ripples - verticals & diagonals....
Very soothing with so many great photographic opportunities as you'e shown. Looks like a dream of a place to sit and stare. A lovely shade of dark rich green and the wonderful light picking out the ripples on the water and the reeds makes it a really pleasing image. Simplicity does the job every time producing a beautiful result and content...

A lovely and tranquil photo of these calm waters in the national park. I like the small ripples in the water and the many shades of green in the grass, trees and water. The lighting is fine too.

It Plitvice Lakes National Park was me unknown but everyday I learn something about the world on TE.
Also soft contrast picture with the plants in foreground.

I like very much the characteristic green color of the water. The plants provide attractive silhouettes here but also the waves on the water make quite a pleasant pattern.

The reed in the FG added a nice texture to the overall photo. Yet, this green/turquoise water are attractive and still have a calm.
