Wilderness lake, a photo from Southern Finland, South

Photographer's Note

The last lake during my late September hike, when I visited also lakes Urja and Valkialampi, was Oraj酺vi lake. I had earlier visited it a couple of times, always from the western side though. This time I came from east after visiting Urja. It is one of the middle size lakes in Nuuksio Lake Uplands and most of its area are within the national park. It is somewhat irregularly shaped with several bays and spits. Its length is 790 metres and the largest width is 600 metres. I have always felt a sense of wilderness when visiting this lake, as if it were in the middle of nowhere. The lake is surrounded by pine forest, but a few birches grow here and there and enlightened the landscape with their autumnal colours on that sunny day.

beautiful atmosphere of relax and quiet, with these colors and reflexes that inspire meditation. Finland is really a stupendous Country, where the nature is still uncontaminated. You have done a good work, technically excellent. Molto bravo!

Hej Lasse,
This place looks very familiar, we have many lakes around Gothenburg looking exactly the same ;-) This is the kind of place where you can hike and then rest, with a cup of coffee from your thermos and just contemplate the peace and stillness.

Hello Lasse,
another variation of your beloved theme. Quite enjoyable: the eye is lead toward the lit trees at the center, with smooth warm colours, while the other trees seems to frame the lake and the precious ones in the center.

A photo like a painting... Here I like especially the composition very much - and of course this wonderful nature. Standing water bodies like this one don't exist here far and wide. I'm a bit envious ... ;-)

Hello Lasse,

A place full of peace and serenity with nice tenders colours well collecetd. A composition well balanced with a POV well selected which gives a great prospect towards the another bank. Good use of light too wich gives nive reflections in the lake.

Hei Lasse,
Finnish wilderness at it's best. I like how you fill the cloudless sky with tree branches. Good exposure on tricky light, also shadow details are well visible. Many lakes in Tampere region look like this too.

Hello Lasse,
I admire your talent to find very good composition for creating simple and at the same time elaborate shots of nature! well, nature is the best artist, and all we have to do is to notice what it offers ;)
I like this juxtaposition of the fark foreground and the bright sunny background; together they create depth in the photo. Very nice, pleasant natural colours! The soft reflection in the water looks lovely, as well as spots of sunshine on the grass in the FG ;)

Pretty amazing view, Lasse. You'd never say this is a late September shot in Finland... it looks more like a South Carolina April picture to me!

hello Lasse,
I like a lot the pale golden light and how it contrasts with the cooler blue tones of the lake. your composition with the tree in the foreground works well to create a sense of depth, and the play of light and shadow on the ground adds another interesting element. very nice work, my compliments.

Hi Lasse. Another peaceful and contemplative shot. The light is gentle and so are the colours, all creating a special moment of harmony. I like the dappled light in the foreground and those pencil thin reflections of the pines. Regards. Klaudio.
