Omaha Beach est l'appellation utilis嶪 par les Alli廥 pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale pour d廥igner l'une des cinq plages du d嶵arquement de Normandie. Affect嶪 aux troupes am廨icaines, elle est celle o� les Alli廥 perdirent le plus de troupes, ce qui lui a valu le surnom de � bloody Omaha � (Omaha la sanglante) et de � the Beach of blood (la Plage du sang)�.

Bonjour Serge,
The coastline looks so beautiful and peaceful, how different that was almost 75 years ago. The cliffs look fantastic and the child playing on the beach was also well included.

Omaha! Very eerie with no one on it while thinking 60 plus years ago it was swarmed with 'Our Bravest Soldiers' Hard to imagine the devastation and horror on this location, but it now looks a very peaceful place. Your image has great little spot of red there. Put a mono on as well, what do you think?? Great capture. Congrats

Hello Serge,
The child playing alone in the sand looks rather lost on this beach with such a violent history. My knowledge of what happened here 75 years ago makes this child look vulnerable. Otherwise it could be just another nice beach at low tide.

Hello Serge,
An appropriate time to post this image with the 75th anniversary of D-Day fast approaching. Seeing this peaceful scene, it is impossible to imagine the bloodshed and carnage that occurred there in June 1944. Fine perspective along the rocky beach with the towering cliffs. The child playing sandcastles is another poignant reminder.

Bonjour Serge, a beach with quite a history, but thankfully here and now it is a peaceful scene.
The lone child playing provides a focal point.
The sharpness is excellent. I like your point of view very much.

Salut Serge,une plage importante pour l'histoire du dernier siecle mais aussi tres jolie a voir,avec ses tipiques falaises qu'on peu voir sur les cotes de la Normandie,qualite' excellente aussi malgre' la journee' nuageuse. Belle soiree' et merci,Luciano

Landing under steep cliffs would not have been a good idea, like with Gallipoli in WW1. A fairly bleak scene but dramtic cliffs. Well taken.

its hard to imagine the events that took place here so many years ago. I wonder what calm beaches today are going to be used during wars in the future. I didn't even notice the child at first. rustic and real scene, I like it. cheers
