Photographer's Note

Following the trend from my last couple of pictures featuring an orange/red color, I have one more from Paris. I was in the Marais neighborhood making my way towards Place des Vosges when I noticed this door. Now this is more typical of Parisian design, however, the color is still something not often seen.

This was a challenging shot! As you can see, the door frame is rather tall and the sidewalk was very narrow. Long story short, I had to back up at a distance to get the entire door within the frameone major problem though, the only available space was a completely full bike rack between the street and sidewalk.

I must have looked quite the fool as I literally wedged myself between bikes to avoid standing in the road and risking my safety for the sake of a photograph!? With such limited space and mobility I wasnt able to use a tripod, so I gave it my best effort to stand still long enough to take the picture without falling over a rack of bikes. Even though the shutter speed is reasonably adequate, I had to lean over a set of handlebars to get a good position. Oh well, if thats the most difficult thing I have to worry about, then I consider myself lucky! :)

Thanks for taking a look!
