Arch reflexions..., a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

Again in La Defense, Paris business and high rise towers area... this time a view of the Grande Arche, now a Paris landmark. I didn't have a tripod at the time, so this is hand held...
As Didi told me, the time in the EXIF is wrong... I had just returned from Thailand, so it must have been taken at 18.12... or 6.12pm.

Toujours a La D嶨ense, une vue de la Grande Arche,avec quelques r嶨lexions... Je n'avais pas de tr廧ied, j'ai donc du retenir mon souffle...
Comme Didi me l'a fait remarquer, l'heure sur l'EXIF est fausse... je revenais a Peine de Tha鮞ande, il faut compter 6 heures de difference, donc 18h.12.....

La D嶨ense looks beautiful in this light! The view is very nice. The foreground gives the illusionof a lake or a river - but in reality, it愀 a pool, isn愒 it?

Curiously, i have been there and do not remember at all that water surface. In spite of being hand held and a little bit blurred the picture is very attractive with good colours and a perfect composition. Well done.

Salut Laurent,
great mirror and what a flat one, only a soft distortion of the originals. Together with that night impression a very strong one, it lacks a bit from the handheld, but only a bit. I like the wonderful light, reminds me to blue hour. The arch is well placed, the tower at the right might be too much, a small crop to take him out I think.

j'aime bien cet endroit qu'en photo! ici le sol mouill� fait joliment ressortir les r嶨lections, le tout bien expos� et d'une nettet� correcte. Le petit man銶e � gauche donne une touche insolite � ce lieu.

C'est un joyau celle ci, le manque de nettete qui doit affecter ta photo vue a 100% est tres bien compense par la reduction a la taille TE et si tu n'indiquais aucn parametre personne n'y verrait rien, meme si le pilier gauche de l'arche parait un peu soft. Le pov est superbe et me semble original, je ne me rappelle pas avoir vu avant une vue de l'arche avec cette piece d'eau en avant plan, en tout cas ca ajoute une excellente reflection, si j'arrive a me faire envoyer en formation a Paris (le centre est a la defense) je ne manquerai pas d'emmener le matos, mais bon en ce moment avec ces greves ca donne pas trop envie... Ah et puis il faudra que tu m'expliques comment obtenir cette luminosite a 00:12, tu avais emporte ton soleil de minuit avec toi probablement ;-)

La compo est superbe avec ses reflets, l'architecture de la Grande Arche ressort super bien sur ce ciel. Dommage qu'il manque un peu de nettet� mais sans tr廧ied, pas facile !

Avec une focale de 28 mm on peut 憝iter le boug� en restant suffisament zen au 1/15 s.
l'essentiel c'est que j'appr嶰ie la bonne gestion des lumi鋨es et un bon cadrage sur cet avant-plan hyper glissant.
Cependant tu devrais songer � mettre ton appareil � l'heure :)

Belle photo de ces r嶨lexions de cette arches superbe etles autre aussi,la statue, ce batiment au toit arrondi,ce grant batiment et cette tour, le tout se refl鋈e avec une grande nettet� malgr廥 le manque de pied, vous savez retenir votre souffle vous, vous 皻es presque pret pour le grand bleu.Superbe prise, je la met dans mes favorites.

From Thailand! Aren't you in Goa? And about to leave to Paris? Nevermind :) Ol� Laurent, this is quite a spectacular capture of this well known landmark, even more since you didn't use a tripod. Gorgeous tones of the blue hour and fantastic effect of the double image on the water. And you waited more than a year to post this one...I know, too many images waiting to be posted... ;-)

very attractive image. It's nice to check the dark tones and the mirror-like water with its reflections. I also like the blue background sky which created a good contrast with the building silhouettes. Very fine job (hey, you didn't use tripod, good hands!).

This image is very good for a handheld shot. The colours of the night came out very nice and the overall composition is very effective to create a balance of elements. This place also seem very modern and perhaps contrast very well with the older architecture of Paris. Nice work.

prise parfaite � l'heure bleue, et un bon cadrage qui nous offre une grande sym彋rie par les beaux reflets de cette architecture sur l'eau, et qui a une belle lumi鋨e et des belles couleurs.
L'exposition est tr鋊 bonne, avec un grand r廥ultat et une haute qualit� d'image, et sans tr廧ied!
C'est une composition avec un effet graphique excellent et une belle g廩m彋rie, j'aime bien.

Il est certain que l'image aurait 彋� plus nette avec un tr廧ied, mais il faut reconna褾re que pour une prise � main lev嶪 et au 1/15e de seconde c'est d嶴� d'une qualit� remarquable. J'aime beaucoup ton choix de cadrage qui a plac� la statue juste au centre de l'Arche et c'est une belle image de blue hour.
