Photographer's Note
Before I had started my most recent trip to Istanbul, I had finally figured out how to use the HDR setting on my bridge camera. I used it quite frequently on my trip, but did not have a chance to compare its result to the images I get from processing RAW files, since I was on the road without my computer. The HDR setting takes several images at different brightness levels and the camera combines these for oprimal brightness and stores a JPEG image. (For that reason, I wonder what the exposure information in EXIF data refers to.) At several places, I took the same scene with the HDR mode and then in P mode in RAW. Here is my comparison shot I took at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport, Terminal 2E Hall K, while I was waiting for my Pittsburgh flight. The main entry is processed from HDR image and the workshop entry is processed from the RAW file. In this instance, I favor the HDR image since it shows the framework outside windows while the RAW image washed them out.
CDG Karşılaştırması - HDR
İstanbul'a yaptığım son seyahatime başlamadan önce, köprü kameramda HDR ayarını nasıl kullanacağımı çıkardım.

Hello Murat,
I hope you had a good trip to Turkey. We're in Chicago right now and of course I access TE, can hardly do a day without! Really great shot of this part of the airport. The roof structure looks wonderful and I love the red of the carpet.

Bonjour, cher Murat,
Voilà une composition originale. L'architecture rappelle celle d'un hangar abritant les aéronefs !
La sol rouge donne à l'ensemble un aspect très contemporain ainsi que l'éclairage zénithal.
Excellente prise de vue.
Amitiés.

Hello Murat,
So you are back from your recent Istanbul trip. I hope you had a great time. Excellent composition, you chose the good setting in your camera. The light management and colors are fantastic here.
I do not like Air France and CDG. I spent so many hours there.
Kind regards Malgo

Hi Murat.
WoW, this is an impressive view from inside the airport's terminal. When I was there last time, there was nothing so fancy to see, it must be a huge upgrade done in recent years. Very nice quality shot, a great pov, colour, and sharpness. TFS!!!

Hello Murat,
Excellent indoor's the terminal photography. Immaculate light and depth with good visible objects.
Outside light gave a fine texture to the ceiling, which prevailing the whole scene.

Hello Murat,
I dislike CDG, which has a steady reputation of being one of the worst major airports in Europe, but in this photo it looks very good. The difference between the two photos isn't great, but maybe this one has a slight advantage of better details at the windows. The symmetry and the red carpet make the composition very attractive, The benches and details of the ceiling create an excellent depth.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Murat,
What an interesting experiment!
You have definite proof of one setting over the other.
Like you, I prefer the HDR result, it certainly seems to have greater depth and richer colours.
What a great subject for your camera! No wonder you were inspired to take a photograph! The receding arch. over a bright carpet, makes an irresistible route for us to travel.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Murat,
The HDR image seems crisper and has more punch, at least on my screen, but both are worthy of viewing. You offer us a wonderful long perspective across this never ending strip of red carpet. I also like the repeating motifs in the roof structure.

Hi Murat.A lot of time to try something new with your camera,i seen your pics from there on facebook,so you find something to do during the stop in Paris...ehehe...i can't see great differences between the 2 pics, usually i like to do HDR with programs and not with camera. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Murat,
I've never flown with Air France or landed in Paris so this is interesting for me. Wonderful repetition of the geometric patterns and certainly better than the locker shed roofs and ceilings of many other airports. Tfs!

Oi, Murat!
Que foto legal! Você se posicionou bem. O efeito visual do teto enriqueceu bastante a foto. A textura do chão também é bem interessante, ficou parecendo um tapete extremamente liso e bem cuidado.
Ótima composição!

Hi Murat
wonderful scene, wonderful long long perspective. yes, as a fan of HDR, i love the look of HDR when its done respectfully. Sometimes HDR shots are over-the-top, but not this one. with the repeating arches, its gives the false sense of movement, I like that. and the red carpet is unexpected but a great colour contrast. well done here. cheers

Hello Murat,
It's the first time I see such an attractive picture of CDG Airport.
Very beautiful, almost symmetrical and very graphical.
The red carpet adds a lot to the charm.
I also looked at the picture in the WS and compared both photos but I don't see big differences.
Best regards, Paul
