Photographer's Note

We return to the theme of Bayonne Cathedral with some shots from inside.

The Cathedral of Saint Mary of Bayonne or the Cathedral of Our Lady of Bayonne , commonly known as Bayonne Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic church in the town of Bayonne, France. It is the seat of the former Bishops of Bayonne, now the Bishops of Bayonne, Lescar, and Oloron. The cathedral is in the Gothic architectural tradition.

The site was previously occupied by a Romanesque cathedral that was destroyed by two fires in 1258 and 1310. Construction of the present cathedral began in the 13th century and was completed at the beginning of the 17th, except for the two spires which were not finished until the 19th century. The structure has been much restored and refurbished, notably by 卌ile Boeswildwald, architect to the French government in the 19th century, and a pupil of Eug鋝e Viollet-le-Duc.

The cathedral stands on the Pilgrimage Way of Santiago de Compostela.

Good morning,
Impressive interior capture. A lovely light from the stained glass windows are making the perfect contrasts to make the arcades even more attractive. Good capture.

Voil� une composition difficile � r嶧liser surtout pour les vitraux (surexposition difficile � ma褾riser).

Elegant POV to show this beautiful Gothic ribbed vault, it shows the height of the cathedral, there are so many stained glass windows, the interior is for sure very bright

This is, in my opinion, the best way to show the strong vertical architecture of a Gothic church architecture. The best results are images like this excellent picture with a certain symmetry in the composition. Great sharpness and good colour management completes the success of this picture.
