An architecture that evokes a toaster or a blue wave? In any case, this building in the seaside resort of Royan (destroyed during bombings during the last war and then rebuilt in the 1950s) is often called: the toaster!

Hello Jean,
It's an interesting building, but I wonder about the functionality of that blue area. Does it serve any purpose or did the architect just enjoy the idea? It was a great gift to photographers anyway.

I can see how it got its nickname. A good duo of images with the angled pov at left showing 2 fa蓷des. The blue and orange colours go well together. Tfs!

Two excellent photos of this wonderful modern house. The blue wave looks great combined with the white walls and yellow windows. Excellent lighting as well with a nice shadow in the right hand side photo.

Je pense que c'est bien fait. La combinaison du bleu et du blanc est aussi r徼ssie.
La photo de gauche nous donne une bonne id嶪 de l'嶮ifice.
La photo partielle de droite a 彋� prise au bon moment de la journ嶪, avec l'ombre dans une belle forme.
Ce doivent 皻re d'幯ormes toasts qui sortiraient d'un tel grille-pain :) Mais c'est un dr犨e de surnom.
Vos photos sont bien s壜 � leur meilleur avec un ciel bleu uniforme.

Bonsoir Jean, mon voison d'aujourd'hui!

The problem while rebuilding Royan must have been that a laboratory for research of urban planning was intended, but with no Bauhaus solutions eligible as these had German origin and the mere presence of Germans had led to the destruction of that city.
I'm just trying to imagine the size of a toast fitting into this toaster...

very well spotted. Somebody has a nice idea to originally decorate the building. Well, in fact, I had to buy a new toaster yesterday but I went for different color to match the kitchen :)
