The face, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

It was starting to get quite chilly in northern France, but that was a nice sunny day.
I was walking around the La Defense area just outside Paris, looking for some nice subject to shoot, when I saw this face shining in the light... I got closer, there was some people, probably working there taking a 'smoke break, as you cant smoke in offices now... Point ....shoot.... upload!

Hello Laurent. The face is quite attractive. Very nice clean cut of the rock showing god facial details. Your capture of this moment is great. I like how people stand there while the large face overlook. Nice picture and thanks for sharing.

Beau jeu d ombres et de lumieres ou l on peut voir la face sculptee bien illuminee ainsi que le visage de la personne situee a gauche. L inclusion de la tour a droite de la photo nous rappelle que nous sommes a la Defense.

Bravo, Laurent, pour cette r嶧lisation. La sculpture prend la lumi鋨e � merveille, de plus, elle est immerg嶪 dans ce monde contemporain avec ses interdictions (cigarettes !).
Les couleurs et le rendu sont superbes.

a very nice composition of the the faces ... I like the guy's face infront of the stone face with the sunray just on his face ...
About the stoneface, is that a compo about the death? His eyes are empty. Oposide to the young guy. He looks full of life.

A very good shot with a god contrast between the facial sculpture and the people on the foreground. You shades and shadows framed the subject very nicely.

Jolie composition tr鋊 graphique. Cette face en pierre donne une ambianc� tr鋊 d嶰al嶪. Peut-皻re dommage que les personnages du premier plan soient un peu trop bouch廥. Mais pas facile � g廨er avec cette lumi鋨e.
Une tr鋊 bonne id嶪.

Hi laurent.

Smart composition with the different sizes of faces. Maybe I preffer a "completely" black background in order to get a more contrast but, anyway, it's a smart picture.

Your astute framing and tight cropping bring this scene alive. The light and exposure level are very fine, with the fine details of the sculpture appreciated. The people in the foreground ideally balance the frame and the man turned toward us in particular enhances and warms the scene. Very well captured.

J'aime beaucoup cette photo, ton point de vue est bien choisi, le reflet du bulding � droite donne bien. Que je les comprends les pauvres avec leurs cigarettes dehors....:)
J'aime beaucoup 嶲alement cette t皻e en pierre ou marbre qui est bien sur l'acteur principale de cette belle photo...!

Cette lumi鋨e met parfaitement en valeur la sculpture avec de plus un excellent fond sombre, la pr廥ence humaine compl鋈e bien la vue et donne une touche vivante � l'ensemble, cependant je trouve qu'il est un peu dommage que le visage se superpose � la sculpture ... tout en reconnaissant la difficult� d'une telle prise d'une sc鋝e vivante.

Hello Laurent. Long time since I stopped by! Busy month of December for sure..Anyways when I opened this photo my first impression was to note the contrast between the huge molded face and the man facing this way. The angle of lighting has really made this shot interesting. Excellent results from a fine capture!

Hi Laurent. Most creative composition. I like the POV which captures several subjects and makes a great final display. Good note which seems smoking is gradually becoming outlawed in many places (thank goodness). Good work. Murraay.

Ol� Laurent, spectacular capture of the light on that iluminated statue and rock surface. I love the darkness around it and the strong contrasts, but even more the interplay with that iluminated face. Very good shot!
