Photographer's Note
WEDDING COSTUME OF THE 1940's-50's. I had already posted this photo, and have decided to repost it, in order to add it to my theme group: "Breton traditional costumes". Most celtic groups have gone into depths to recreate the local costumes of different epochs, and they wear all of them at festivals.
The one shown on this photo, is actually an original one worn in PLOUGASTEL in the 1940's and 1950's. I thought that showing the back of the skirt and head dress was interesting, because a lot of skills goes into embroidering the pearls, and in setting the head dress.
On Valeria's advice, I did a tighter crop especially of the lady's legs, in order to enhance the costume itself, which is the main subject of the photo.

Bonjour, mon amie Marie-Louise,

Bravo.
Bonne journée

Hi ML,
I didn´t see the previous posting of this photo - but I have to say that this version works very well. The crop was very successful, the costumes attract all attention. Furthermore, the whole composition is interesting as most other photos (not only yours) show only the "front side" of traditional costumes - this one also shows the backside.
However, it´s a pity you couldn´t crop out the purple dressed boy in the left (he doesn´t "fit" colorwise).

Marie Louise I think you've done a really good job of cropping. You show completely the costumes. I want to see as much of the man's costume and the blue color is beautiful in his coat. You're right about seeing these pictures from the front most of the time but the back of the man's hat is very interesting to see as is the woman's dress. I wonder have you tried to crop only the fabric to really show the beading? Yes the white it a little bright but as you wanted to show the pearls and the stitching I think you have succeeded. It must be really fun to see all these people in their costumes. Thanks for your very interesting information.
Sincerely,
Mary

Salut Marie Louise,
unexpected "back shot" but well done for this details of the costumes. That in most cultures the women are wearing all those details and the men have less or nothing..
The white is a bit burned out and asks for a reduced exposure I think.

Bonjour Marie Louise,
Josep
