Photographer's Note
The Bridge of the Gard is a piece of the Roman aqueduct which drove the water of Uzès in Nimes. Built at the beginning of our era with stones extracted on the scene in the surrounding Roman careers, it steps over the Roach on 360 metres. It is formed by 3 levels of arcs supporting the covered channel(canal) situated in 48 metres of the ground. It is the highest aqueduct known for the Roman world. In foreground: an olive tree millennium.
