Lifting Fog, a photo from Bayern, West

Photographer's Note

A view from the trail that starts from Sankt Bartholom� via Kuhroint H慤te to Sch霵au a. K霵igssee. You can see the domed towers of Sankt Bartholom� behind the tree top & an electric powered boat on its way there. The Germans were probably one of the first to start conservation effort. Since 1909 only electric powered boats are allowed to ply the lake which has the status of being the cleanest & purest lake in Germany. It is claimed that the water is of drinking quality. This area is part of the Berchtesgaden National Park.

Visibility was not so good at the start of the trail but after an hour or so of trekking the steep slope the view was becoming clearer. This photo was taken at about 650 m above the lake.

Hello Latiff. Excellent high angle composition anchoring the boat in the frame. The low lying mist/cloud generates pristine mood above the thick green foliage overlooking the calm water. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Wonderful high viewpoint scene. The fog is quite dense and still the air around is very clear and so is the water on that wonderful lake. The boat adds sense of scale, you must have had a tough climb up there!

You used the clouds very well to your advantage. They give volume to this picturew hich would, otherwise, lack a good foreground.

Wow latiff,

very lovely picture very nice colors. The fog creates very nice image giving it surreal feel. the boat in the BG looks lost noweher and looks very nice too.

Hi Latiff,

It is almost as if the traditional form of a photo has been turned upside down here as the boat occupies the place that is often filled in most photos by sky. This lake is stunning; the water is clear and peaceful. Good to see that your map is working, I can appreciate your position and also the huge size of this lake. The layer of fog really breaks up the image well, and adds another dimension to the scene. Well done!

I love it, the fog makes the shot, the scenery is pretty enough but it wouldn't be the same withought the fog, the boat is a nice bonus.

We first think it's a cloud and then we see the boat and understand it's mist on a lake... A beautiful and smart effect, well captured.
