Passing Boats, a photo from Bayern, West

Photographer's Note

View of two passing boats in the fog on a lake called K霵igssee (the King's Lake). Taken from a trail that starts from Sankt Bartholom� via Kuhroint H慤te to Sch霵au a. K霵igssee. Since 1909 only electric powered boats are allowed to ply the lake which has the status of being the cleanest & purest lake in Germany. It is claimed that the water is of drinking quality. This area forms part of the Berchtesgaden National Park.

Visibility was not so good at the start of the trail but after an hour or so of trekking the steep slope the view was becoming clearer. This photo was taken at about 650 m above the lake.

Hello Lative case,
It is an original photograph. These boats seem to move away one from the other to the top of the clouds. A mysterious environment emerges from this image creative and seen well. Cheer.

good moment for this capture of the two little boats on K霵igssee.
I like the beautifully rising fog in the lower part of your picture. It creates a special atmosphere and a great foreground for the two passing boats. Well done.

Hi Latiff,
Until I opened the photo, I thought the shot had been taken from an aeroplane! Really such atmosphere in the photo, the haze is so thick it almost looks black and white. A fine, and intriguing photo!

oh yes, the beautiful K霵igssee, looks even more mystic with this fog coming over the water, these two boats are important for the composition, without them it would haven been too empty, but with them it`s great! Great bird eye POV and perfect framing. Very nice, thanks for posting an image of my region.

You caught these boats just right. The clouds in the FG give us the sense of height. It is an cool presentation to see clouds at the bottom of an image that are not reflections.

Hello Latiff,

this is one of those photos which cannot be understood or appreciated from the thumbnail unless you open them.
It's a very delicate and poetic composition where only those two boats emerge from the fog. It's a charming image in spite of the very low contrast.
