Photographer's Note
Somewhere in time
in Yiousouroum of Monastiraki,
this old camera waiting for
a new collector.
All we love our new digital cameras,
but this camera have seen the facts
in Athens for the last seventy years!
I don't know the label,
even how many megapixels it has!
This old camera still lives...

Hi Thomas,
What a nice catch showing us this old camera.
The megapixels will be zero, probably shooting on plates.
Very good capture with deep saturated colors.....very nice..!!

Hi Thomas, very good and a bit endearing capture of vintage 'platen' camera. It indeed must have captured very much of the history of Athens through its lens. The harsh backdrop of the grafitty makes its vintageness stand out beautifully. Love the colours and compo too.
Very good work!
Have a nice weekend,
Bert

Hi Thomas,
I love very much the subject. The old camera and the old picture on the back wall are really fantastic. The colors are also remarcable. The compo could be improved, I'm not sure that the camera at central focus was the best option, but I don't know what you had around. Maybe a little close-up as suggested by Ferando could work. I like the orange door, but I suggest little cut on this side making the picture square. Post a WS. I hope you don't mind. I think I like better you original but will post my ws anyway, just for comparisson.
Regards,
Flavia

A very precious antique, this camera brings up how things have changed in photography, looking at the old camera we realized we have done a great step forward, not only in that matter but in so many others things. Everything is changing so fast.
I really find this picture an excellent one.
Thank you Thomas for sharing.

Hi Thomas
Beautiful colors .You have nicely captured sample photos on camera. Is it expensive to get photos taken by these cameras?
Athens has lot of similarities with old delhi. One could get to see similar cameras near Jama Masjid.

Hi Thomas,
This a very good picture shot that you took so nicely to a special old Camera Photographic world util for many nice pictures from our collective past. It's possible the better approach to a old Camera here at TE and with this close-up eyes perspective and enquadrement surrounding view for a better compo. The title fits well with this post. The work is great with light, excelent colors and aditional precious details.
These words are only my appreciation and the way I see good work like this one you post to TE. Sureally a must!!!
Very well seen, clear picture and a excelent composition. My congratulations and Best to you my friend.
Have a nice weekend.

It looks like you're putting together quite a series of antiques. (How about starting a theme) A very interesting view of this old camera. I think Flavia has done a good WS too.

Hi Thomas, great idea, this is actually a shot of both the old camera and old photos; it's amazing that these old photos like the ones in your shot have kept quality better than more recent color shots, as we can see for example here. Congratulations, Daniel

Hi Thomas,
You are showing us a very interesting series. This shot is quite an interesting artistic composition, so full of details and colours. We can feel that there is a lot of history in these objects, not only from the marvellous old camera. The quality of the image is excellent. Very good work!
TFS,
Have a nice weekend,
