Photographer's Note
WHY, "THE GODFATHER"?
***CHECK WORKSHOP!!!***
That was the photo posted yesterday, deleted by the "geniouses" that run this site. I expected that this would happen and the same did many of the friends that had written a critique about the photo (thank you all, guys!). It seems that are moderators are well know for their lack of sense of humor and creative imagination. Anyway, the "original" version in this case is the ***WORKSHOP!!!***.
I took this photo in a huge entertainment park in Athens, where I went with the beautiful company of my beloved nephews that came to visit me from Crete. The moment I "saw" this scene, my mind went inmediately to the logo of "The Godfather".
If you want to read about that legendary movie, ***CHECK HERE*** .
PS.Let's see. Will they find a reason to delete this one? Maybe, "too simple black frame?". Just an idea to help them!

Hello Hercules
Its a shame you were denied the previous photo, very creative idea! and it worked out so well too!
this paticular version shows us height, its very hard to accomplish height and depth in a non 3dimensional world as a photo - but you managed to do so.
excellent work indeed!
Cheers

if you're looking for something different from beautiful panoramas, views on our cities, breathtaking amazing shots...well, this is not the right place, and you know it well. I liked alot your WS, the pic itself is a masterpiece...you added a touch of irony and "they" didn't understand it, as always...great job!
have a good day!

Hello Cretense,
I did not see the posting, yesterday, but I can see no problem with this! It is highly original and produces a fine sense of height and depth despite the lack of b/g features as a yardstick.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

As I mentionned in the comment of the "original version", a pity it has been deleted because it was a create way to share the photo ... Anyway, the photo, as itself, is good and the b&w superb.

hi hercules
that was a good idea to associate this shot with the godfather frame
Though I prefer this one more natural, in which the puppet look of the persons is still well present
well done
best to you for 2010

Yes, I saw the previous version (it was stroke of genius) but I knew it`s gona be deleted so I was waiting for the new one to tell you, that I`m bewitched by this image. I admire the concept and presentation and at the most, your imagination.
Take care and all the best,

The idea is very good and its realization even better.
An author photograph of first class and the censors who deleted it have no photographic taste. What to say? They are just bureocrates who apply the rules blindly...

Kalispera Hercules.

Hi Hercules
The original must have been deleted before I had a chance to comment but I thought it was a spark of genius. Even this shot is a pleasure to look at as the B&W works well here and for once I am not bothered by the bland sky as it helps to isolate the people.

hi Hercules
the original version is full of poetry, fun, but it violates the TOS for the inventive framing! Shot down!
2 smileys for it.
Note: good framing to get 4 swings and the different attitudes of the persons.
Happy (?) new year

Hello Hercules,
Thanks for including the original in the WS. Without it, the playful reference in the title would have been lost. What a pity the original was 'verboten' by the commiszars of the site! Does humor belong in TE?
Who's pulling the strings here?
With my best wishes.

Hi Hercules!
I had seen your previous version but when I was going to comment it, I saw it had disappeared. I was wondering what had happened but I realise now.
It's great this way also, I like the b&w, the format you have chosen and the composition works perfectly, even with this frame:)!

Hola Hercules.
Saludos cordiales.

Hello Hercules.
well i saw the godfather version before this one and thought for me, how much time it would last here until it was removed (creativity on frames not allowed here but ok you were more and less advised, didn't you?)
Even without the string puller above this is a very nice crop with the folks enjoying the ride on those chairs and how I remember the complete madness when I used to ride on those chairs at full speed and with my colleagues making it turn around... nice memories yoou brought back to me with this one.
Cheers.

Good evening, Hercules,
The shot is still excellent, even without the stuff at the top (which was very creative and put a smile on my face).

Hello Hercules!
Very nice photograph!
Pretty original and an excellent photo job!
Sharpness, exposure, pov, black frame, the choice for black and white and vertical format and composition are all outstanding features here!
I was always affraid of that thing in amusement parks!
I also agree with the ones who said it was such a shame not being able to add those visual effects on our pictures! It'd only add interest and fun to our posts, wouldn't it?!
TFS - congratulations1

Hi Hercules,
They did it again. They never learn. Creativity and humour are not allowed on this site. Only the rules count even if they are silly and useless, like the mysterious rule about framing.
Are you 100% sure that the people on the scene are no relatives or well known TE-members, otherwise I have to report this picture for violating the TOS. But before that I will reward both pictures with two point.

Hello Hercules,
I like very very much your two last B&W shots on roundabouts. You found the perfect framing according to me and I think it's not very easy to find it. The idea to convert them in B&W was great.
Very nice composition, very well balanced.
Really a good work. Congrats.
