Photographer's Note
On 13 August 2004, the Olympic Games came home to Greece for the XXVIII Olympiad at an estimated cost of approximately €9bn. 13 years after the sporting extravaganza, many of its once-gleaming Olympic venues now lie abandoned. For many Greeks who swelled with pride at the time, the Games are now a source of anger as the country struggles through a six-year depression, record unemployment, homelessness and poverty, with many questioning how the nation has benefited from the multi-billion-dollar event.

Bonjour, cher Daniel,
Bien d'accord avec la note d'accompagnement (hélas, il en est de même parfois avec d'autres Pays).
Un choix de cadrage parfait pour valoriser cet édifice;
Merci pour cette composition.
Amitiés.

Hi Daniel,i seen non TV what happens to the Olympic village, completely abandoned after a lot of money spend for this event. It's a pity but it's like what happens sometimes in Italy, like the EXPO 2015 area now abandoned too. But the pic is great,a magnificent capture of this architechture very sharp and bright! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hi Daniel
An impressive compo emphasising focus of attention on receding shapes and lines which extends the sense of depth and graphical aspect. This shot sums up the typical modern architecture showing some of the best design, lovely long perspective with its mouth watering contrast and rich colours. Another top-notch
of yours! Congrats
Best regards

Bonjour Daniel,
Tu ne manques pas de toupet de dire que cet endroit est des ruines. Cela semble si moderne comme architecture avec de belles courbes modernes sous un beau ciel bleu.
Amicalement

Hello Daniel
The Olympic Games has becom more and more expensive. I`m glad we (Norway) gave it thumbs down and did not apply for the Olympic Winter Games in 2022. It`s a splendid picture of this interesting architecture. Very sharp and clear. Fine graphical elements and a nice contrasting sky. Fine work:) TFS.

Hello Daniel,
this stadium was the diamond of the Olympic game of Athens in 2004,with the characteristic construction of Calatrava to be the eye catching of the area.Good presentation.

Ciao Daniel
fantastica prospettiva con un riflesso magnifico che raddoppia la bellezza della foto. Mi piace il taglio verticale che lascia spazio a un cielo perfetto.

Hello Daniel, I have seen this abandoned Calatrava construction on Craig's picture. What a pity. It happens not so rarely that after the event there is no idea how to use the objct and all the enormous cost is wasted.
Kind regrads Malgo

Hello Daniel,
Pity how such abeautiful architecture designed edifice was left with no use after the Olympic's - hope one day it will have a use again.
Fabulous outcome from the POV taken from, exceptional reflection and blue sky.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Daniel
I find the photo quite pleasing and quiet, especially in contrast for such a hot topic that the Olympics are and how Greece has handled the aftermath.
Your perspective for this photo is excellent, letting the wall(?) lead the view waaay into the photo.
Also the stark contrast between the white of the wall and the magnificently blue sky is excellent, also as I feel it represents the colors of the Greek flag and the issues they are facing.
Thanks for sharing.
