sailing in Thessaloniki

As I was walking at the seafront of Thessaloniki on a sunny yet cold day of winter I came across this scene.
Sailing boats. As an admirer of the sea and of sailing in particular I stepped closer to capture this rare scene. A group of sailing boats which were all members of a sailing group were gathered to go for a coffee at one of the plenty cafes at the promenade of Thessaloniki in order to celebrate the end of the courses.

Hello Dear Constantino,

The seas have calmed!
This is a beautiful, tranquil mood, with the boats lying calmly on the water.
The line of yachts, with their tall masts, makes a most attractive focus, creating a good sense of perspective and brightening the scene with their flapping, red flags.
The figure in red, standing on the first prow becomes a main focal point, guiding outwards to the incoming boat and uniting the whole scene.

Καλησπέρα Κωνσταντίνε,
η θάλασσα ηρέμησε, το φως φαίνεται πιο θερμό, ο καιρός γλύκανε πολύ. Βέβαια, στη σημείωσή σου γράφεις ότι έκανε κρύο αλλά η σκηνή είναι τόσο όμορφη, σχεδόν ιδανική για την εποχή. Μου αρέσει η προοπτική και τα στοιχεία που επαναλαμβάνονται με έναν παιχνιδιάρικο τρόπο. Υπέροχος ο ουρανός και η θάλασσα, ωραία η σκηνή με τον ναύτη που ατενίζει τη θάλασσα και τα πιο απομακρυσμένα σκάφη. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

Definite eye candy shot - i think tis' is one of your best take, on a lovely brilliant day full of fresh deep colours, tones and jaw-dropping contrast to white boats! Your impressive balance compo and viewpoint cant be better than this, I love in particulars how the surprise coincidental of vivid red demands a closer look and attention. A thoughtfully composed shot, think you certainly have done great justice with this. Awesome capture, Congrats

ah yeah, this makes me want to post a photo or two from one of the Vancouver Marina's :)
its so nice to see clear blue skies as it raining here for weeks now.

sweet shot with the blue and white combo, and added in are the splashes of red everywhere. nice shot

Hello Costantino,

Nice repetition of both the yachts and the red flags which contrast well with the blue sea and sky. Excellent sharpness and saturation. The 2 distant yachts moored offshore a little way add depth. Tfs!
