Photographer's Note
This is Roussanou Monastery, rising from the shades, early in the morning.
Roussanou Monastery is also know as Agias Varvaras Monastery. It was established (probably) around 1388 by the monks Necodemus and Benedict. Today functions as a nunnery. Open to visitors daily, except Wednesday, from 09:00-14:00 (winter) and 09:00-18:00 (summer).

Hello Hercules,
This is one of the most dramatic of all the shots I've seen of Meteor. By the low angle created at sunrise, you see primarily the tops of the great shafts of granite, and the well lit edges. Well done, good friend.

Hi Herculs,
this is one of the places that fascinates me more in Greece, and your image is one of the best I've ever seen on it. I like a lot the light and the scale between monastery and rocks.

Bonjour Hercules,
It is sublime: what mastery of light and shade in the landscape and the monastery.
I also really like the texture of the rock.

Hercules,
Wow, what an amazing place which you have presented nicely. The play of sun and shadow gives the photo a 3-D look. The off center placement of the monastery works well allowing us to see the rock formations on the other side.

Hi Hercules,
I know it is classic view but the composition is new to me.
Very interesting light setting.
I usually prefer to have everything nicely illuminated but your shot is more artistic with plenty of shade and the main object sticking out in the light.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Hercules!
That place is simply fantasticly wonderful and magical! I am enjoying a lot to see it here thru your pictures! When one thinks of traveling to Greece here in Brazil, one thinks of its beaches and islands... but if I ever get the chance to visit it, I'll certainly include Meteora in my traveling plans!
Excellent sharpness, exposure (perfect), pov and composition (superb)!
TFS - Congratulations!
My warmest regards,

Hola Hercules,

great contrasts, the thumbnail doesn't catch the eye, but it's worth to open the picture, the play of light and the dominant shady areas, it's a real pleasure to the eye, great moment of the day for this POV

Another impressive view of this remarkable monastery. The morning light which lits only the building leaving the rest in the shade creates a very fine effect. One of the most beautiful rock formations in the world. Well cropped and framed.
Have a nice dy,

Hercules, this is a really impressive area you are shooting. I can't imagine having bad shots, just some that are better than others. This one with the early light is very dramatic and the deep shadows work wonderfully to show off the rugged topography. Great capture.

Hi Hercules,
Again a superb photo of this Meteora region. The light was perfect for this kind of view. It gives much depth in the rocks and the monastery is defenetly the eye-catcher.
Congratulations.
Did you tried to crop the right side of the picture to make a square photo without the view of the mountains in the background, I wonder how it looks.

Hi Hercules, A fine composition with the main subject well position. It is good to see such a monastry in the unforgiving hills. Imagine the effort needed to get all the materials to such a place. Good posting to learn about the world. TFS. Murray.

Hi Hercules
Very nice spotlights on the rocks and the monastery mixing with darkness.
I note also a good management exposure with the darkness.
Best regards and happy Easter.
