On more photo from St. Nicholas Monastery, and the bridge that connects it with the mainland of Thrace. St. Nicholas monastery located in a beautiful natural environment, very close to the fishing village of Porto Lagos, in the middle of small lagoons and right beside Lake Vistonis (or Vistonida) was connected with one of the greatest scandals in recent Greek political history, that of Vatopedi monastery.

The region around Lake Vistonis is of high natural importance and is protected by greek and international laws. If you want to read more CHECK HERE.

TWO MORE PHOTOS FROM THE SAME PLACE:
The "stormy petrel"
Porto Lagos

The title comes from a song by "The Doors". Here are the lyrics:
You know the day destroys the night
Night divides the day
Tried to run
Tried to hide
Break on through to the other side

We chased our pleasures here
Dug our treasures there
But can you still recall
The time we cried
Break on through to the other side

Everybody loves my baby
Everybody loves my baby
She get
She get
She get
She get high

I found an island in your arms
Country in your eyes
Arms that chain us
Eyes that lie
Break on through to the other side

Made the scene
Week to week
Day to day
Hour to hour
The gate is straight
Deep and wide
Break on through to the other side
Break on through to the other side
