Boatyards and shipyards and dockyards are places which repair and build ships. These can be boats, yachts, military vessels, cruise liners or other cargo or passenger ships. Dockyards are sometimes more associated with maintenance and basing activities than shipyards, which are sometimes associated more with initial construction. The terms are routinely used interchangeably, in part because the evolution of dockyards and shipyards has often caused them to change or merge roles. (wikipedia)

Nice capture from this shipyard with abandoned boats in the foreground.
Perfect sharpness.
I wonder where the boat at right paret came from, as she has an arabic name !

Καλησπέρα Βασίλη,
Τα καρνάγια είναι ένας μέρος που παράγει απίστευτες εικόνες και συνθέσεις όπως αυτή βέβαια με λυπεί το γεγονός ότι πλέον πολλά καρνάγια εγκαταλείπονται και ερημώνονται. Οι βάρκες εξιστορούν πόσο τους έχει ταλαιπωρήσει ο χρόνος, η αλμύρα και ο ανέμος. Πολύ όμορφη και ατμοσφαιρική σύνθεση.

Καλησπέρα Βασίλη,
Συμφωνώ με τη Μαρία ότι τα καρνάγια είναι πολύ γοητευτικά μέρη. Μπορεί να βρει κανείς θησαυρούς σ' αυτά. Καμμιά φορά βέβαια βλέπεις και βάρκες που δεν πρόκειται να ξαναταξιδέψουν και αυτό δεν είναι ευχάριστο. Πάντως, πιστεύω ότι όλες οι βάρκες είναι όμορφες και πρέπει να τις σεβόμαστε γι' αυτό που υπήρξαν. Μου αρέσει πολύ η σύνθεση και τα χρώματα της φωτογραφίας σου, η ευκρίνεια και ο τρόπος που γέρνει η ξύλινη βαρκούλα προς τη μεγαλύτερη. Πολύ καλή μεταφορά της ατμόσφαιρας του καρνάγιου.

you see them everwhere in Greece and to us photographers they are irresistable subject matter. I love this - so perfectly composed and full of exquisite detail. The boats look so sad and neglected which adds to the atmosphere and effect of this wonderful image.
