Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. It is part of the Olympus massif near the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea, located in the Olympus Range on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, between the regional units of Larissa and Pieria, about 80 km (50 mi) southwest from Thessaloniki. Mount Olympus has 52 peaks and deep gorges The highest peak, Mytikas ( M𤣱ikas), meaning "nose", rises to 2,917 metres (9,570 ft). It is one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic prominence.rnrnIn Greek mythology Olympus is the home of the Greek gods, on Mytikas peak. The mountain has exceptional biodiversity and rich flora. It has been a National Park, the first in Greece, since 1938. rnThese peaks are around the Olympus Ski Center.

Hello Piotr,
The view of the mountain impresses strongly with its dramatic tones of black and grey and large areas of white. The sky is mainly grey because of the clouds, so there is only a small area of blue sky to confirm it is a colour photo. The bright light and strong contrasts also make this a very eye-catching photo.

Olympus is the highest mountain in
Greece...and this view is impressive and creates the question how did you capture this photo????
you are not afraid of the height
and the view of the mountain is
too eyecatching with its dramatic
tones of black and grey...
and the large areas of the white snow???
a difficult photo with good light
and dynamic contrasts...
a magnificent view of this glorious
mountain according to the Greek
Mythology too...

Hello Piotr,
Only some snow patches on the barren rocks, early summer and assume that it would be completely "naked" of snow by the end of the season.
Nonetheless, a clear picture of the mighty slopes.

A beautiful mountain view of this famous mountain, home of the ancient Greek gods. The light was perfect and highlighted the shapes of the rocks and the patches of snow so well.

the famous mount is surprising being so high and so near of the sea. nice view, a place so famous by I guess the first time I see a photo of it.
