Photographer's Note

Driving northwards along Heydalsvegur (Hay Valley Road), road no. 55, I came across a secondary road to the left. It led me to the depicted lake, which goes by the name Hl艛arvatn. Im told its a good one for trout fishing, as well as the nearby Oddasta簜vatn. At the end of the road theres a horse rental and the farm Hallkelssta簜hl艛. In 1964 there was an experiment with a floating summer hotel in the shape of a Viking ship on lake Hl艛arvatn. It was called Hotel Viking. The mountain in the background must be the 279 m high 煡erfell.
