Photographer's Note
Please check out the larger Beta version, its quite impressive compared to this one. Beautiful Iceland Beaches.
I wanted to continue showing some of the majestic and beautiful landscapes which Iceland has to offer. This is one of those which I came across along the Eastern Coastline while approaching the Fjords.
I'll add the map feature for the approx location. If you look closely you'll notice its a black sand beach, which is fallout from a blasted Volcano. The volcano can easily be seen here on the left.
Its a shame most people who travel to Iceland will never get to see these landscapes because they stay on the Golden Circle Road. The most often driven tourist road circles around the country in 3 or 4 easy days. There's even a smaller tourist route than can be done in 1 day.
Those roads have their advantages for sure, but for me, take the hwy further out and explore. And yes, you'll have to drive some dirt paths, but look at what you'll find. You'll find scene's like this. Well forth the time and effort, and of course if you have 12 days like I did.
I hope you'll appreciate this one, Iceland has so much to offer the tourist who has time to venture out. I'd go back here again for a third time, in a heartbeat!

Hello Craig, It is not the paradise beach we often see on TE. Not a place to lie on the sand and swim but very interesting. Spectacular landscape but rather unfriendly. I would like to make such trip and to visit remote places like here but I am not the driver. In Lofoten I managed to use the buses but I am afraid it is not possible in Iceland. Excellent shot with this angry sea.
Kind regrads Malgo

Bonjour, cher Craig,
Je ne trouve pas les mots pour exprimer la beauté des lieux.
Alors, je regarde et ouvre grand les yeux.
Un paysage vraiment étonnant, beau, sauvage.

Hi Craig,
Beautiful seaside landscape, nice beach but not to take a sunbath or a bath ... Good POV and depth effect, tfs.

Allocation of the onjects over the pic. space was effectively taken, Craig, allow a fine view of the sea and shore in depth and fine clarity.
The brown slopes marvelously shown, remind of vulcano activity in recent million years...
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Ciao Craig
è impressionante questa costa priva di vegetazione.
Il panorama è bellissimo nella sua originalità e il cielo è perfetto per completare una bellissima foto.

Hello Craig,
It looks considerably colder than Hawaii or Thailand, but otherwise this could be a great beach. I love the white waves from the dark sea rolling onto the beach below the brown hills. It's a fairly narrow range of colors but they have a softness that I like and the long view along the rocks is terrific.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hello Craig,
The depth is really quite amazing. The coastline is placed just right in the frame making for a strong composition. Perfectly exposed with superb lights and colours; excellent sharpness.

Hello Craig,
Oh wow, Iceland even has sandy beaches! Such a great view of the coastline with the steep mountains running almost right into the water where there's no strip of beach. The white clouds and the fine sunlight were ideal circumstances.

Bonjour Craig
J'ignore si les Islandais peuvent profiter d'un été qui réchauffe un petit peu la température de l'eau car les plages de sable noir sont magnifiques. Magnifique point de vue et très belle profondeur.

Hello Craig
Even at small size it's impressive.
Wonderful landscape with the steep mountains ending at a beach. I would love this beach more then the typical tropical beach, this is still true nature.
Excellent work!!!
Kind regards,

Hello Craig,
A wonderful view of a long, pristine wild coastline.
This time you've been there in summer. Does a crowded beach exist on Iceland ? Just wondering.
Nice combination of the white incoming waves and the black sand beach.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Craig,
Wow! This is spectacular!! And now I can see why you decided to avoid the namby-pamby popular tourist route when you visited Iceland.
Geez, is that the main road coming into the picture about two thirds up and travelling horizontally across the frame? You wouldn't want to be driving too fast along that after a few beers, eh?
And, as always, you have captured this spectacular view perfectly in a well balanced composition with glorious light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness. A wonderfully fascinating note too.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Craig,
This shoreline is impressive with the hills rising right beside it. It looks so isolated, and it feels like you're the only person around. Were you? I like the sky, and the hills in the distance, too.

This is very impressive Craig. The steep sided slopes which are nearly in the sea!
The geology of Iceland is incredible.
How safe are those roads? Any danger of collapse?
The depth of field is excellent. Lovely natural colours.
The large version allows us to view all the details.
Regards Jean.

Hi Craig,
this picture surely convinces me enough that Iceland is worth a trip.
It feels so wild and remote.
Surprisingly we don't often see pictures of Icelandic coast here, usually there are some waterfalls but not too much coastline.
This country definitely deserves more days but of course life is tough and although I get generous holidays from my employer I still struggle.. it is never enough.
Great work!!

Hello, Craig!
Beautiful view of the beach from a high POV, I suppose the water must be really cold for the location! Interesting mountains in front of it, that makes a great contrast with the sky! Excellent colors and sharpness! Wonderful job!

Hi Craig,
Fantastic landcape from eastern edge of Iceland. Somehow this direct viewpoint down to the waterline gives this view extra strength. The weather was just perfect on thet moment. I wonder if there was any path down to that beach.

Hi Craig,
The distance between the mountains is giving depth to the composition. Youhave captired well the poer of the waves. The point of view is showing the details of the mountains. Have a nice day.

I have a serious complaint to make, Craig - you have just made me realise that I have to go to Iceland again... And I mean "have to".
Nicely shot, I love those hills and the black sand, so iconic of the place.
Have a nice week
