Photographer's Note
A second photo from the Reynisdrangar Stacks, the rock formation which featured in my previous post and seems to be arranged like organ pipes. Of course, similar formations can be found in various countries, including Australia where the rocks in Tasmania are actually called : the 'Organ Pipes'.
But the human interest is the main interest for me in this one. Years ago I posted a photo called Woman in Red, but you had to look closely to find her. Today it's the man in red, a larger but rather serious, static subject who looks as though he were born to sit in the stacks of Reynisdrangar and is going to stay there. All the action is with his wife/partner, who might be wielding only a mobile phone, but she knows how a low viewpoint can make all the difference.

Hello Andrew;
The man in red does seem well ensconced; he is certainly ideally placed to make an excellent focal point for your well realised composition. The photographer's antics contribute some more humour to an already humorous situation. Excellent rendering of the textural detail.

Hello Andrew,
These rock formations look like they were meant to be used as an outdoor photo studio. The fantastic pillars provide a perfect background, so I am sure the lady got herself a good photo. You managed a nice composition too, with a diagonal line between the photographer and her model, and a triangle of human elements including those in the background. It is nicely cropped too, roughly according to the rule of thirds.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Andrew, an excellent composition with both main characters strategically placed.
Like the tight crop that concentrates our eyes on the imposing rock formations.
And dressed in red, what a bonus!
Regards Jean.

Hi Andrew
This is brilliant, and your note, towards the end of the second paragraph, really made me smile.
I almost feel like asking if you told the man to wear a red jacket, although I of course know it's not the case. But it's just so convenient for you and his photographer wife.
You could have zoomed in to just have a photo of a men in red surrounded by strange rock formation but by including the woman you gave us the context and a story.
Best wishes
Kasia

Bonjour Andrew,
J'aime beaucoup cette composition. Cela prenait un beau manteau rouge pour bien para褾re dans cette masse de pierres.La position de la dame photographe est assez sp嶰iale pour avoir le meilleur angle possible.

Hello Andrew
People spotting adds something else, even a bit of humour to the nature scene. It works.

Hello Andrew,
A fantastic natural phenomenon to find these organ pipes on the pebble beach. Also the shining black rock wall where the group is waiting, looks very fascinating.
Have you seen someone who climbed even higher? I can imagine that some people climb too far and do not dare to return.
Best regards, Paul

Hello, Andrew!
Another great capture of these interesting rock formations, this time with the man in red really standing out among the grey environment and also the photographer well positioned in the photo! Excellent light, colors and sharpness! Beautiful job!

Hello Andrew,
an excellent work and description, in which every word is true.
Life can be static, and statics can be lively.
Have a good week!

Hello Andrew, My dream is to see the Giant Causeway in Ireland, I saw only the basalt formations on Staffa Island in Hebrides, also very attractive. Here a bit similar scene as in your picture.
Nice scene with the man in red and a photographer photographed. Fascinating place, I would love to see.
Have a nice week and merry Christmas.

Hi Andrew
The man in red adds a nice bit of contrast in the photo - a spectacular scene.
When you commented on one of my photos a day or so ago you mentioned viewing the high resolution version. I started uploading large files sizes recently because they give a better main image on TE and I had noticed that the old 800 pixel size requirement had gone from the upload instructions. I had no idea, however, if you could view the larger resolution version as there is no obvious link fot it so I hunted around and have found how to view them so I'll add the instruction into my comments for some images now (eg tonight's more panoramic photo).
Thanks for triggering me to hunt for for it.

Hello Andrew,
Another delightful photograph from Reynisdrangar Stacks.
The rock formation is an amazing natural sculpture; you liken it to organ pipes, I see it as a petrified, straw puzzle, implemented by the girl guides at a local fete!
The two important figures are very well placed in opposing corners of the fame, the furthest wearing our favourite red!
The approaching figures seem to add some urgency to the photograph! The photographer needs to finish the shot before they come into frame!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Andrew,
It is a fantastic place. And your shot is so well arranged. Dark sand, those columns and almost black basalt rock all making harmonous combination. And thre's a good connection between the photographer and the guy in portrait.

Hello Andrew
He may not as pretty as the woman in red, but the man still provides a good focal contrast and tonal variations to the uniform and repetitive patterns and colors of the organ-pipe like, crytalised basaltic lava. Tfs!

Hi Andrew
As a photographer, you can't miss it, very good framing with the eye catching red cloth at a stong point, equilibrationg the kneeled photographer in a grey surrounding!
Cheers

Hello Andrew,
This is another great view using the stacks as a backdrop. Luckily someone in colorful clothes was posing when you were there. :-) We can understand the way the photographer in this shot is trying to bend and get just the right view. I also like the group of people standing by those other rocks off to the side.
