Arrival in Iceland

Finally time to pick up the thread and upload new photos on TrekEarth.
During my trip with Lars through Canada and the USA, processing the hundreds of photos and making a Facebook report for the home front took too much time to be active on TE too.
Also the heatwave in the Netherlands did not stimulate me to sit at the computer.
Now hopefully better times for TrekEarth-activities will come. Another 4 days of painting in France early next week and then I hope to upload new photos regularly and admire and comment on all your beautiful pictures again.

Today my arrival in Iceland. Specifically, the arrival of the M / S Norr霵a in the fjord at Sey簨sfj顤繠r. An amazing blue sky that we never saw again during our stay in Iceland.

I add the dark frame to the picture to give the posts a screen format of 1920x1080 pixels

Hello Rob,
How nice to see you back on the site. I don't know what more to ask from a reflection, so why call it "almost perfect"? Dark rocks, snow and green hillsides seen in two versions, the lower ones with slightly more intense colours. Maybe the sea is too calm to create funny distortions, but who needs distortions in front of a scenery as majestic as this?. The two extra photos give us further evidence of the magic of arriving by sea to Iceland.

What a wonderful view to be greeted with. Perfectly photographed with superb lights and colours and some delightful reflections. Completely different from how it appears in the TV series.

Nice to see you back I suppose I should include Iceland on my next tour around Europe along with Belgium, West Germany and Switzerland. (Yes I know west Germany hasn't existed since 1989. I wanted to visit Cologne, Heidelberg and the Rhine River cruise & Black Forest. Have already seen Munich, Dresden, Berlin & Hamburg). Spectacular scenery here and excellent colour and saturation. Wonderful reflections of the snowy peaks. Tfs

Iceland is one best nature's performance land. Mostly green though, not so icey - Greenland has less green...

Hello Rob,

I perfectly understand why you were less than keen to post during the heat wave! Sometimes, I did post to get out of the heat. I would grab a cold drink and move to my computer, which is situated upstairs, on the north side of the house, and usually much cooler! I suppose it depends on the situation of your computer. Also, hot weather is a time to be out exploring or holidaying. Ours will be later in the year!

Three very beautiful photographs.
The silent beauty of this scenery is almost overpowering!
The main post is almost as if the land has gone to sleep and the whole is just basking in the sunlight and reflections.
It's easy to understand why the ancient peoples worshipped the land and symbols of the weather!

Dag Rob,

Op de beta versie zijn de foto heel mooi, ik kijk nooit op de andere versie.
Alle drie zijn ze een hoofd foto waard.
U had het geluk dat er bijna geen wind stond, wat logisch de weersiegeling bevorderd.
Prachtig foto werk, zo ben ik ook even op reis geweest.

Eerst IJsland maar eens inkleuren. Het land zelf was hier onder deze heldere lucht zelf ook al mooi ingekleurd en de spiegelingen in het water zijn natuurlijk schitterend.

Geweldige landschappen in IJsland!
Zeker onder dergelijke blauwe lucht ziet het er heel aantrekkelijk uit. Jammer van de prijzen ... anders wilde ik er ook wel naartoe.
Prachtige weerspiegelingen in - ik veronderstel - een meer.
De besneeuwde bergen, de egaal blauwe kleur van lucht en water en het mooie licht maken hiervan een super foto.

glad to see you back on TE! I'm sure your photos will make me want to post a few more Iceland shots of my own.
so you took this ferry into Iceland? is that right? Sorry to hear you didn't have great weather, thats the risk when travelling to this country. I was very lucky, but I also went later in the year, Aug I think. What we see in your shot is so typical in Iceland, these views are everywhere and i love each and every one of them. Great to see the reflection and colours. looking forward to seeing more.

Hello Rob, HAha, this time we will see the places in the USA and Canada first through Lars lenses and then your pictures. First, we see some photos from Iceland. Wonderful view, it is just as I imagine Iceland. The mountains covered with the grass and lakes. with the snow, it seems cold. Beautiful reflections.
I saw many pictures from these trips on FB.
