Photographer's Note
Spread your wings and let the world lift you high.
Right by the Geysers in the Haukadalur valley of South/West Iceland, one can climb up high, to the top of a hill and marvel at the space and freedom Iceland has to offer.
From there, one can look at people flocking to watch the Strokkur perform faithfully every 5 to 10 minutes, and hope to catch a sight of the Geysir erupting to its famous heights.
For years the Geysir stopped erupting altogether, and the urban myth tells that it was thanks to washing powder that they got it going again... whether that is true remains to be confirmed. The story was told to us by a local... and then confirmed by another. Perhaps something to tell tourists? Or perhaps an inside story? Who will ever know?
The wind was blowing hard yet softly at this mountain top, and the evening sun was already bathing the area in its golden light. As one stood there at the top, there was nothing in front, only space and wind, and in the distance these high volcanoes, greeting whomever dared to peak far enough to see them.
Traveling to Iceland was not just traveling to another country.
For me, it was experiencing Life in a different dimension. Feeling the everyday movements from a new perspective. Breathing in a new freshness and Peace.
With this picture, I hope to transmit some of those feelings to whomever might be watching.
Thanks for passing by :)

Hi Julia,
the title is perfect for your shot. The sense of freedom given by the deep blue of the sky is really remarkable. From a technical point of view I find this photo clean and crisp. Maybe the figure could be just a little clearer (I will try a workshop and post it if the change is ok). Congratulations, Dario

Hi Julia! Great compo. This low pov makes very interesting this shot. One can feel that you tell in your note: it's plenty of life, and a big and large earth. The depth is amazing. Congratulations. Take care.
Angel.

Hi Julia, very good photo here, one of your best efforts I think. Composition is perfect, so dynamic, and the spirit of freedom is fantastically captured. The orange man and the maountain in the background balance each other here and the plain between them gives deepness to the composition. Very very good!
Cheers

Serwus Julia !
A perfect proof what the inclusion of the man can contribute to the landscape image.
Feeling of wind is stunning here. I think it's not very surprising that this Work of Yours evokes the scenes from Pink Floyd's clip "learning to fly". Fanastic depth, great use of the sticking-out top.
Best wishes,
Mat

pretty good ... but IMO, it could have been better with greater distortion and had the person been jumping
cheers ... sarju
PS: could you tell me what was the focal length at which you took this photo?

Great shot like always!
Perfect colors and good composition. The somehow curbed horizont with the volcano at the beackground adds to the feeling hugeness and endlessness. Of cause the Orange man couldn't jump: I'm quite sure he would have been blown away by the wind ;-)
