Photographer's Note

On the dockside at Sorrento we waited for the hydroplane ferry to take us to the Isle of Capri for two wonderful days. Our entire group waited in the hot sun while the ferry came in and the passengers disembarked. Our tour bus had to stay on the mainland and all of our luggage taken on board and transferred to a small bus at the docks at Capri. I was so surprised to see no beach at Sorrento, but only a manmade small area of small stones and sand on one side of the dock area. The land in that area was extremely rocky, with cliffs high above the sea. I was interested in all the shapes that the boarding gate presented with the white painted metal work and I wanted a photo of the ferry boat, but unfortunately it was partly hidden by the structure and by the time it was docking, we were on the move lining up to go down the stairs on to the pier.
