Photographer's Note

An evening shot taken from Piazza San Pietro in the Vatican City. It shows a statue of Pope Pius IX in the foreground with a top part of St Peters Basilica behind.

I just managed to catch the last bit of colour in the sky with this shot. I was supprised the lights on the statue turned out so white - I had the camera set to auto white balance so I guess this has taken any orange edge to the light away.
The A70 seems to produce a lot of noise in long exposure night shots. I used Neatimage with very low noise reduction levels set to get rid of some of the noise in the sky but keeping detail in the subject.
If anyone has any other good methods to get rid of this type of noise I would be pleased to hear them.
Other than neat image just a very slight increase in brigtness and contrast.
