Photographer's Note
For those who have complained that it is very difficult to photograph butterflies, I recommend starting with moths. Certainly much easier to approach and hardly escape, and there are some really nice ones. I love this species very much, I call it "the divine" because of its magnificent design that looks like it was crocheted. The species is Abraxas sylvata, the clouded magpie, a Palearctic moth of the family Geometridae that was named by Giovanni Antonio Scopoli in 1763.

Hello Luciano,
These patterns are just as beautiful as those of many brighter butterflies. The moth is also perfectly placed on the large green leaf which provides a fine background. You had plenty of time to adjust your camera to the right settings.
Best regards,

Ciao Luciano,
I have just seen a butterfly in Silvio's gallery and now moth in yours.
First of all I am not sure whether I would be able to distinguish them. I usually see moths when I clean the garden and the accidentally fly out from their hideout. Or they fly into the house if I leave the window open with light at night... Both situations not very convenient to photograph them ha ha
Great photograph here -this one seems to be posing very nicely for you indeed.

Hi Luciano
Another lovely image but this time of a moth. Its patterning almost looks like an old map of the world.
I thought moths prefered night time!

Hello Luciano,
The first problem is finding them. I would not know where to find butterflies of moths. Lovely shot of this gorgeous creature.

Hi Luciano
I might have to start out with moths then. A nice diffused light with perfect sharpness. Good framing and downward pov. Tfs!

Hi Luciano.
This moth that seems to me to be a beautiful butterfly, I find it very beautiful and subtle with those suggestive designs of its soft colors.
Very effective color, which highlights the details of the image.
A good management, both of the luminosity, and of the sharpness.
Very well done. I like it.
Enjoy the weekend.
My best wishes for you.

Hello Luciano,
Apparently you didn't even have to wait until darkness to photograph this moth.
Seeing this moth, I think Italy has nicer specimens than Belgium.
Somehow it doesn't seem very attractive to me to photograph moths in my country. Maybe wrongly.
The green leaf makes a perfect backdrop for this little insect.
Best regards, Paul
