The Palace of Venaria (Italian: Reggia di Venaria Reale) is a former royal residence located in Venaria Reale, near Turin, in Piedmont, northern Italy. It is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997, and one of the largest royal residences in the world, comparable in size and structures to those of Versailles and Caserta (though the latter's park is far larger).

The Palace was designed and built from 1675 by Amedeo di Castellamonte, commissioned by duke Charles Emmanuel II, who needed a base for his hunting expeditions in the heathy hill country north of Turin. The name itself derives from Latin, Venatio Regia meaning "Royal Hunt".

A lot of great things about this photograph....convergence of lines, lighting, pattern in the floor, lone figure walking, looks like black and white (but it's really color), and the dark, mysterious door at the end...is it safe to go through it? My only suggestion would be to stretch the top left corner a little to make the columns more verticle. Other than that I think this photo is very, very good.

This hall is so beautiful. I love the architecture and artwork. Your photo has great graphism and DOF. I like the sun shining through the windows, and making patterns on the floor. Having one man walking by completes a very well-composed photo.

A really excellent capture. The sense of perspective and the light management are fantastic. You have chosen the moment perfectly when the man is in the middle distance. I like how he is positioned to one side of the gallery, and his dark clothing fits in very well with the surroundings. Very well done indeed.
